We go out in London often, as we live quite nearby! It’s always fun to visit a packed city and see what you can find. As people who do enjoy sweet treats from time to time, we have been to a large amount of dessert places – and have enjoyed many of them! So, we decided to put together a list of the best dessert places in London that we’ve really enjoyed! Hopefully you find some lovely dessert places for you to enjoy while hanging out in London.
Walkmisu
Walkmisu is a very unique dessert place, probably the only one of it’s kind in all of London. It’s two red telephone booths, pushed together, forming a dessert stand. This stand sells the most delicious, soft, creamy tiramisú in all of London, hand made by the person who runs the little booth. You can easily grab one of their tiramisús and sit in the park to enjoy it or walk around London while chowing down. There are a variety of different flavors at Walkmisu, including a traditional one and a lovely chocolate banana one that I quite enjoy – clearly made with fresh bananas! They also do a selection of hot drinks and coffees, if you are a bit thirsty.
Maitre Choux
Maitre Choux is a bit of an expensive bakery to take a look at, but all of the pastries are hand crafted with recipes from a Michelin star chef, so you really are eating a work of art. Their windows are designed to incise you in, though do beware – it’s far more expensive to dine in then take away! These pastries are wonderful, so light and the fillings and designs are clearly done with a lot of care. They also have soft drinks and teas if you are eating in – and their menus seem to change when new pastries are created, so you might find something new among their classics each time you come. I love the more fruity tasting pastries, – but this really is one of the best dessert places in London and well worth the price.
Badiani Gelato
If you are looking for ice cream, you couldn’t do much better than Badiani 1932 Gelato. This building is bright and vibrant, encapsulating the summertime vibe needed when eating ice cream, even in London where it is often grey and cold. They have a variety of different flavors and options, and will allow you to taste test whatever you’d like. If you’re not feeling any of their cones, they have chocolate dipped ice cream sandwiches and mini-cones which make for a really unique sweet treat – and one worth checking out if you are craving something different.
Doughnut Time
Doughnut Time has many locations all over London, providing a variety of quirky and fun doughnuts to anyone who approaches their stands or shops. They tend to have a variety of trendy doughnuts, often following whatever pop culture is dominating the internet. Their desserts are always packed with toppings, fillings and frostings, with a great amount of vegan options as well, if you’d prefer those. Their displays, much like Maitre Choux, are really enticing, but at a more approachable price point for the average impulse buy!
Bake
If you are looking for some treats that aren’t too sweet, Bake has tons of options! They carry a lot of traditional desserts, that contain bean paste – which is one of Dann’s favorites. Many of the pastries are made right there in front of you, which is a fun time, and you can also pick up soft server that is inside a cone made of dough, that looks like a fish. It’s a place I always stop in to grab an ice cream, especially as it looks so cool and is very fun to walk around with!
Those are the dessert places that I always stop by – my favorites when I am craving something a little sweet in London. Hopefully you can get along to some and see if they are your favorites as well.
