We tend to go to a lot of seasonal events each year, and as we have explored, we’ve done a ton of different Easter Trails! As spring is full of nice flowers and better weather, taking advantage of the local Easter Trails in Essex and the surrounding areas can be a great way to get out and about with you and your family. Here are the best Easter Trails we’ve been too.
Spot Giant Eggs at Hyde Hall Easter Trail
The Hyde Hall Easter Trail is a trail full of massive eggs. These are very easy to spot and follow around, and make for good photographs. There are a bunch of flowers within different biomes on the trial, so you can explore different blooms. For the trail, each child gets a map / quiz to complete, using different informational boards dotted around the area. There is also a good sized park on the grounds, which is great for burning energy! We learned a lot and got a little puzzle prize at the end.

Explore a Smaller Trail at Bourne Mill
The Bourne Mill Easter Trail is a bit of a smaller one – we found it was good to have a little picnic on site before starting our adventure. This trail focuses on doing different tasks, like jumping like a rabbit at a specific place or drawing a picture of what you see and tells you all about the animals that can be found in the area. It’s different and quite fun to keep young ones moving. The use of the space is very good too, providing a nice little walk around the grounds. It’s a good trail for a small outing.

Learn About The Grounds at Audley End House Easter Trail
Audley End House has massive grounds, all around a beautiful house! This is one of the longer trails that you can go on, where you will learn a bunch about the architecture of the house, the people that lived within the home, and how the house functioned. The trail has you answering various questions, which are done by reading the various signs dotted around. It’s a fantastic area to explore on a sunny day, especially with the amount of walking you can do walking around. At the end of the trail, you can also get a little chocolate treat.

Find Giant Iconic Bunnies at Hampton Court Palace
Though this trail might be a little out of the way, the Hampton Court Palace trail has a bunch of iconic Lindt bunnies, that you can find all around the beautiful grounds. There is a lot of outdoor exploration, and each of the bunnies are based on different historical figures, that you can learn all about. The trail itself can take you quite some time to find, but included in the ticket price is also a massive, super unique park that our children really enjoyed playing at! It’s well worth making time to go to the park as well as explore. At the end of the trail, you can get either a badge or a chocolate bunny.
