Date Night at Windsor Great Park Illuminated Light Trail

[Ad- gifted experience] After visiting Windsor Great Park Illuminated last year with our children, we were kindly invited to come up again for one of their press viewings! Dann and I went together as a sort of date night, to see how the light trail changed over the last year and have some time to ourselves. Don’t worry though, we have plenty of light trails planned for the whole family, which we will be writing about as well.

A Day Out at London MCM Comic Con x EGX

[Ad- gifted experience] We always go to MCM Comic Con London as it’s just on our doorstep and they invite us often. This year, they combined with EGX, another event that Dann and I attend each year for work, so we were interested to see exactly how this went. EGX is a gaming event, normally just showcasing a bunch of games, and MCM Comic Con is sort of like a big store – full of geeky and nerd items, along with a lot of cosplayers.

Exploring the Coventry Christmas Market

It’s officially the time of Christmas Markets in England! Dann and I had already ventured to one of the ones in London, which was very crowded and very much like a London Christmas Market. This market had just opened the day before, so we were excited to see what it is like as none of us had been.

Watching Cinderella at The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch

[Ad- gifted experience] It’s Christmas time, which in England means there are tons of pantos. Last year, I went to my first ever panto and had a wonderful time. Cinderella had a lot of the same actors from the previous panto I saw at The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch, so I was well excited to see it. Cinderella is a classic story, but like most plays, this one felt unique and with a twist.

Exploring Blackpool Illuminations

While traveling up to Scotland, we decided to stop off and check out the Blackpool Illuniations. I have never been to these illuminations, though we visit a large number of light trails all throughout England, so I was pretty pumped to check them out. Dann had been many years ago, when he was a child, but he didn’t remember it particularly well.

The Blackpool Illuminations are free to see as they are just dotted around the main bit of Blackpool. There isn’t a sort of check in or ticket system and you can often find a lot of cars slowly driving down the road looking at all of the lights out there. We got there just before the lights were switched on and weren’t really sure where to start, so we walked to the big Blackpool sign, which had a long queue waiting. We decided not to wait for a picture and instead started on the walk.
