A Day Out at Wonderland at Adventure Island

As we are attending loads of seasonal events at amusement parks this year, when our friends invited us to come to Wonderland at Adventure Island with their family, we were well up for it! We are seasonal pass holders at Adventure Island, which gave us a discount on the Winter Wonderland tickets and a free pass to each go in and use all of the other rides at the park. It is worth noting the Wonderland ticket does not include rides this year (though I heard it did previously) and you will need to book separately!

O-Deer is a silly Reindeer-themed game

[Ad- gifted product] O-Deer is one of those silly party games that reminded us of It’s Bananas!, however this game takes up far less space and is themed for the wintertime! The box itself has a few simple items; six blow up rings, a blow up reindeer antler hat, a red nose and a timer, allowing you to play a variety of different games with your friends and family, all to do with throwing rings at whoever has the antler hat!

The Untold Story of Father Christmas is a lovely Christmas tale

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to the story of Father Christmas, there are quite a few out there, with many reasons to believe in Father Christmas and many answers on how he is able to deliver so many toys to children all over the world, in just one night. The Untold Story of Father Christmas gives more of a background on Father Christmas himself, why he is called Father Christmas, and his motivations, as well as how he ended up with elves to help him in his creation of toys.

A Day Out at Christmas at Blenheim Palace

Dann is a big fan of Christmas markets, and I love light trails, so he set up a little date night at Christmas at Blenheim Palace! This palace is one of the few that we have not been too previously, and we were excited to see it all decorated and set up for the festive season. The palace’s Christmas market is free to enter, with optional ticket add-ons for an in-palace tour and a light trail! We ended up only going for the light trail this year as they are some of my favorite things to walk around and see.

Christmas Gifts for tweens

*AD/Collaboration, but as always, all views are my own.

There are more than a few ages where it gets tricky to buy presents for kids, but few more so than the transition from kid into a teenager. Age 11-12-year-old children. My eldest child, Kai, is twelve, and when you ask him what he wants for Christmas, for his birthday, or even – sometimes – for dinner, he answers with uncertainties. We’re a very busy household, we play computer games and board games together, we regularly go out for walks, or to events, or the cinema… and so, there are always a few options there. But, at that age, they’ve just started secondary school, and that means that there’s more than likely a shift in the people who they play with and spend time with at school – as well as the implications from, in the UK, being treated as a ‘young adult’ rather than a child.

So what great gifts do you buy for somebody who already has games, toys and more, somebody whose mind and view of the world might be shifting?
