[Ad- gifted product] If you are a frequent reader on our blog, you know we try out a new board game or card game every single Monday that Kai has DnD. Kai goes to our local Geek Retreat, and we all grab milkshakes and play a few rounds of something before his DnD starts. Robin, Amelia, Dann and I all took along the tiny box that contains History Heroes: A Little Slice of History. This box is small enough to fit in any bag or purse and simple enough to bring around with you when going out and about.

Marvellous Makers – The Essex Summer Reading Challenge 2024

Robin is a big reader, with her favorite store being Waterstones and her favorite hobby being “reading comic books”, we are always looking for new ways to encourage and support her love of reading. For as long as she enjoyed reading, we have been signing her up for all sorts of reading related events in Essex. We’ve read to dogs, gone to plays that are based on books, and have taken her to the library at any chance we have gotten. The Summer and Winter reading challenge each year is a real highlight, as it does change so much and is so rewarding. This summer, the Essex Reading Challenge is called Marvellous Makers, and there is a fantastic display right at our local library in Harlow Town, which runs until September 7th.

[Ad- gifted product] Happy Salmon isn’t the normal type of card game we play at our local Geek Retreat. It’s one that might benefit from more space and not having a table in the middle of you. That said, as someone who has played it both ways, I do prefer having a table as a sort of middle ground, as otherwise people can get all in each other’s spaces and hard to move around! [Ad- gifted product] It’s summertime and we are looking to try new snacks and treats, possibly for school lunch boxes in the new school year. One of the things all of our kids really enjoy in their packed lunches are the jelly squeeze packets. They all often have them for their snack time snack, so when we saw Vortex Jelly Pops from Candy Paradise, we figured this would be a hit! These jelly pops come in a bunch of different fruit shapes, which showcase their flavors easily.

However, I got my hands on a gift box, which contains a bunch of tea bags.
