Eating Burgers at The Pig’s Head Pub in Mayfield Farm

[Ad- gifted experience] Mayfield Farm has a handful of places to eat during the summertime! A few weeks back, we went to see Caine’s Pizza when it opened, and now that The Pig’s Head Pub has opened up, we went back over to try out their burgers. The Pig’s Head Pub is a part of the Churchgate Sausage Shop – so you know that the meats that they are cooking up will be premium. We went on a Friday evening, where the outdoor seating was full and everyone was having a great time. It is worth mentioning that they do have a breakfast menu,, if you fancy that.

A Big Steak at Kindling Steakhouse and Restaurant

Dann, Quang and I were all in Brighton for a work trip, to see a venue for a gaming event we are putting on in a few months. So, of course, we went out for a large early dinner or late lunch, depending on how you look at it! Quang, the master of finding places to eat, picked Kindling Steakhouse and Restaurant, which has a decent-sized, steak-centered menu. The Kindling Steakhouse and Restaurant has a few specials, that seem to rotate often, along with sharing specials if you are looking to split a big meal.

Caine’s Pizza at Mayfield Farm – Woodfire Pizza and Desserts

We are a household that loves trying new things! Previously, we had run into Caine’s Pizza at the Potter Street Fete, but had tried it at the Harlow Street Art Festival, where we were told about the pop-up restaurant that they have started hosting at Mayfield Farm, every Friday. Dann and I tried some of the pizzas at the street art festival and decided we just must go to the pop-up with our entire family, to see how it all is.

Eating with a View at Schonbrunn Gloriette

When it comes to beautiful cafes to eat at in Austria, but the Schonbrunn Gloriette is one that feels just breath-taking. I think, looking at the building, I didn’t realize it was even a cafe at all, but it was! This building is a massive arch, with tons of arches at either side, with a small building in the middle that holds the cafe. It overlooks a fantastic view of Vienna, which is also stunning, along with the gardens and castle in front of it. We loved the little walk from the tram to this cafe, as it was so beautiful, and such a lovely morning walk.

Once we entered the Schonbrunn Gloriette, we took a seat at a booth that had a window view of the castle below. It was simply magical. There was a person playing the piano, then playing some brace pipes afterwards, which added to this magic! Dann and I had quite a few mornings of only sweet treats, and now were interested in trying something savory, so that’s what we did! I am going to be honest. I am not sure what all of the cakes we ordered and tried were, as these were picked out by our tour guides for us to try.

Eating Traditional Wiener Schnitzel at Figlmüller

While in Austria, it felt like a must to try wiener schnitzel – a traditional meal of very thinly-pounded pork, breaded and fried. Figlmüller has become the place for wiener schnitzel in Vienna, as they have been serving it there for 120 years. They also are known for their home-grown wine, but we aren’t big wine drinkers! I did have grape juice there, which was absolutely the best grape juice I have ever had.
