Taking Care of a Care Bears Digital Pet

[Ad- gifted product] Robin is a huge fan of Care Bears and has had a Tamagotchi Uni that she has played through several times, so when we saw the Care Bears Digital Pet, she very much wanted to play with the purple one called Harmony Bear. There are a few different bear options, which is very fun as the back of these key chains look exactly like the bear itself. The shape itself is the perfect size to hold and display and the actual look of it – like the print – is so cute!

Once you have set the time on your Care Bears Digital Pet, you can start playing and taking care of your pet. Like many similar digital pets, you can feed them, shower them, and let them sleep. There are also a bunch of mini-games, which seem to be specific to the Care Bear that you end up getting, along with Care Points to show how well you are taking care of them. These different symbols on the top and bottom of the screen are pretty easy to read and understand.

Your bear will grow up as time goes on, getting bigger and changing slightly in form, as they have three growth stages. The Care Bear itself does play around on it’s own too, changing and animating on the screen even when you are not interacting with it directly. There is a lot of caring aspects to the Care Bears Digital Pets; you do need to let it nap during the day and feed it healthy! There are two mini-games; a whack a mole where you need to whack a mole and an apple catching game where you need to bounce an apple about until it falls. Robin liked the apple catching game best.

There is a disco ball icon on the bottom of the screen where you can choose what type of dance party you want to do. This is such a fun little animation and brings a lot of joy to Robin. There is also learning that can be done on the Care Bears Digital Pet – it just feels like there are so many different animations and activities to actually do with them.

Science Snippets The Human Body provides casual learning through flash cards

[Ad- gifted product] Now that back-to-school is in full swing, we often want to support the children’s learning with things at home. Amelia has a drumming kit that goes along with her schooling, Robin has some multiplication apps and songs, as she was struggling with them, Kai has an entire account for his GCSE practice that we got for him over the summer (though not as fun as the other two). Sometimes, having toys around the house that aren’t directly related to their currently learning will inspire them to learn more casually. Science Snippets The Human Body is a bundle of flash cards that answer how, what and why questions directly to do with the human body.

EUGY 3D Puzzles – Creating 3D Animals and Dinosaurs

[Ad- gifted product] We have previously, though many years ago, tried out the EUGY 3D Puzzle for Meerkats, but Robin was much younger and not into puzzles, so it was something Amelia put together. When we were gifted two of the EUGY 3D Puzzles, Robin was excited for her chance to build them and have the little models in her own room. These 3D puzzles are very easy to set up and put together, offering a fantastic rainy day activity, which is often needed in the autumn time. EUGY 3D Puzzles have a large number of animals, dinosaurs, mythical creatures and sea life for you to put together, all following the same sort of format. Each one has their own number as well, which encourages collecting them all!

Don’t Fall for It – Trivia-based Board Game

[Ad- gifted product] Every other week, we go to our local Geek Retreat to try out a new board game! This time, we played some Don’t Fall for It, which is a trivia-based board game with a large range of subjects. The age rating on this board game is ten and above, though, Robin is nine (nearly ten) so we figured we would see how it would go. The board itself was interesting; it folds out into a tower that you then can place a bunch of cardboard planks across the inside of the tower. There is a pre-made little triangle that goes in the bottom, and needs to be snug.

Beaker Creatures Skull Mountain Volcano – Mystery Monsters

[Ad- gifted product] Robin is a huge fan of small figures, creatures, and blind boxes. This made the concept of Beaker Creatures fantastic for her, especially with their Beaker Creatures Reactor Pods and their Beaker Creatures Skull Mountain Volcano. These toys are aimed at children who are interested in science and learning, which is an interesting way to build more of an understanding of science.
