Slam It! Family Friendly Game | Review

[Ad- gifted product] There’s a lot of different tabletop games out there now, and more people than ever playing them. Slam It! from Ideal is certainly a bit more Table Top Toy rather than a board game, but it was a welcome addition to the physical games rotation that we’ve set up with the kids this year.

Slam It! has a lot going for it. Much like a lot of Ideal’s current kids range it is designed to be compact, contained and quick to learn. Once the outer packaging is removed Slam It! is reduced to a simple yellow case which clicks open and shut. Within it, there are pre-divided compartments, where you can separate out the cards which are introduced in each of the different difficulty games. Some of these are bombs, others reverse the direction of play and others mean that a turn is skipped. It’s incredibly simple to pick up and play, as simple as Say it, See it, Slam it.

Pointz – family friendly party game | Review

[Ad- gifted product] We are a big fan of both board games and family games in our household. Something that can be played together with everyone in our house, is always a big plus. We do play a lot of video games together, as both myself and my partner work in the games industry, but we also have ‘no-screen days’ to focus more on our toys and small projects in our household. Though Pointz isn’t technically a board game – or even a tabletop game as it’s best to play it on the floor – it really fit in with the tabletop and family nights we have. Pointz contains a bunch of cards inside a big spinner, and those cards and the container itself are all you need to play the game. I should note that it’s very easy to get these cards into the spinner, as the container opens up. The bottom of the container has a small nub, which is what the spinner is balanced on, so that, regardless of your strength, it can spin easily on flooring.

My Fairy Garden Fairy Garden | Toy Review

As the weather improves, we decided to start planting our grass for the My Fairy Garden toy. This innovative toy by Interplay is the first in their line of toys that combines nature and play, allowing children to grow different plants and grass while also having toys and decorations for their miniature land. The process is relatively simple, and it’s a great way to introduce children to gardening and nature.

£50 Toy Haul from PoundToy | Review

[Ad- gifted products] Our household is always on the lookout for toys, especially toy kits and items that will keep the three kids entertained. With the half term coming up, PoundToy reaching out with their very affordable toys seemed like a really good fit. Pound Toy is an online retailer that sells loads and loads of children’s toys at extremely affordable prices. They have some name brands, but mainly loads of cheaper off-brands that work pretty well. A few of their toys are free ad-ons (one per order) and there are toys that come in at £0.01, which can be added to an order, but do have a limit depending on what it is.

5 Cool Toys from the Toy Fair 2020

At the end of last month, I went along to the Toy Fair 2020 – I go each year, mainly to check out board games for Big Boss Battle, a site I am one of the owners of. As we’ve been reviewing toys on this blog, I figured I’d spend more time looking at the Toy aspect of the Toy Fair. Sadly, on the day we were meant to go to the Toy Fair, our car’s catalytic converter was stolen while parked in a parking lot – what a wild ride. Because of this, I ended up only having part of one day to explore the Toy Fair, but I booked a few appointments and checked out a bunch of different toys. I wanted to share with you what I found to be the coolest toys of the fair!
