A Day Out at Sealife Adventure

In the United Kingdom, Sea Life is normally a sort of brand of aquariums, that are all around the country. However, there is one Sealife that doesn’t seem to be in this umbrella, and that’s the one owned by Adventure Island, which I believe has been around long before the Sea Life brand. This was super confusing to me at first, especially as Sea Life tends to charge tons to see their aquarium, where as Sealife Adventure is much more affordable and can often be free to go into if there is an event at Adventure Island.

A Day Out at The Flood at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch

[Ad- gifted experience] Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch is one of our favourite theatre venues; with a cafe, bar, stage and a very comfortable theatres, we were excited to be back again for another performance. The Flood is a really interesting concept for a theatre show; a play that takes place across 100 years, in the same location, as time changes the people and the environment around them. This showcases before and after a flood, as well as far into the future. The Flood is also based on a real life event; in 1953 there was a massive flood in the Canvey Islands, that resulted in the death of 58 people and devastated the community affected as well as destroyed many homes. On the night that we were attending, there was one cast member who had not ended up making that specific night, and instead one of the stage producers jumped in, script in hand, to fill the slot so the play could go on.

How To Break Out of a Detention Centre at Riverside Studios

[Ad- gifted experience] Our second play at Riverside Studios was so much different from our first. We went to see How to Break Out of a Detention Centre, a more emotional and intense performance about immigration camps in the United Kingdom. This show is based on real stories from women who have been in these detention centres, showcasing what has happened to them.

A Day Out at Adventure Golf

Adventure Island is very close to our home, and so we go so often! Though Adventure Island is an amusement park and arcade, there is Adventure Golf attached to it, which allows people to pay a fee to take on one of two mini-golf courses. We have passed this on our way into the park several times, and it was finally time to try it out. There are two different courses at the Adventure Golf that you can take on and we went for the one that sort of moved above the other, getting some height in the course!

A Day Out at Jack V Giant at the Polka Theatre

[Ad- gifted experience] The Polka Theatre is one that always sticks in my mind as such a wonderful hub for children to play, explore and test boundaries! You see, the theatre itself is quite large, with a few different dedicated spaces for children. There is a dress up area, books that are free to read, colouring, and a magnetic building block wall in one room. An outdoor, treehouse inspired play house encourages outdoor play. There is a cafe, with chalk boards, to keep children busy while adults enjoy a meal or coffee. Even the hallways are full of colourful works of art and interesting displays that are fun to look at! The whole place just feels like it was designed for children!
