Chronicles of a Happy Tooth teaches children and adults about dental care!

Brushing your teeth is something that we all know is very important, but it is often hard to get children excited about the actual act of brushing your teeth – and it can sometimes be hard to know exactly what to do to encourage or help your child along. Chronicles of a Happy Tooth is a rhyming, story book about teeth coming in – that also includes an entire dental guide, with ages and information on exactly how to help your child on their tooth journey.

The story itself in Chronicles of a Happy Tooth is about a baby tooth, pushing it’s way out into the world. The trusty toothbrush, toothpaste and floss come to play, to take care of your tooth. There is quite a bit in this book about diet as well, which talks about how your diet can effect your teeth, and how brushing your teeth is really important – even if you do eat a balance diet. Along with brushing your teeth, Chronicles of a Happy Tooth introduces dentists, talking about how they can help maintain your tooth’s life and help your teeth stay nice and healthy – which is a pretty great introduction to someone that children often find scary to talk about. The designs inside the book are all bright and vibrant – with some adorable pictures of smiling items and cute foods!

Robin really enjoyed this book, talking about her teeth, the foods she eats, and how happy her teeth probably are. It’s really adorable to see! Chronicles of a Happy Tooth do have some larger words, but they were words that were easy to explain to Robin, and she did enjoy getting the chance to learn new words as well. At the end of the story aspect of the book, there is a note to Grownups, which introduces you to the second half of this book, which is a dental guide. This guide talks about what to expect when bringing your child to the dentist, tips on ensuring that they have the best experience possible, guidance on how to brush their teeth by age, and more – which is really helpful.

Often parents find it hard and a bit complex when it comes to dental care, especially as you don’t want to over do it, but also don’t want to under care for teeth either. Ensuring that a child is set up and able to take care of their teeth from a young age can really make a difference later on, especially when it comes to their adult teeth and keeping those healthy too. This information is really well written and presented in a great way, making this book perfect to read to children, but also use as a resource as they grow. This information is also written by an actual dentist, which does make a difference!
