Delton Bags – Dark Grey Canvas Satchel | Review

[Ad- gifted product] I’ve had quite a few messenger bags (or satchels, if you will) over the years, due in part to the fact that the best ones can fit a tablet or laptop in them with no issue. They also give ample space for cables, promotional goods and the mass of business cards which I receive whenever I attend an event for work, and all without having to pull the thing off of my back.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, something happened to my previous, trusty bag, and all of a sudden I was in need of a new one. Perfect timing for us to grab a Canvas Satchel bag (from Delton Bags), which we got from the Trendhim site, then, and – as it happens – it is incredibly similar to my previous ones. So no complaints there. Most importantly, the bag had an absolute mass of storage locations. On either side of the bag, there are drink holders which are always welcome when you’re working your way around an event hall – although these don’t tend to see much use if you have a laptop with a 17″ or greater screen.

There’s a deep pocket as part of the fastening flap, and also a shallow pocket on the back – where the bag rests against your hip or back. Meanwhile, with the flap removed, there’s a large function pocket on the newly revealed face of the bag, which includes standard wire, card and pen holders as well as ample room to store an assortment of papers. Then there’s the main compartment of the bag. There’s a further wide, shallow pocket in there for storing valuables, but most importantly there’s a full-width cushion for separating your laptop/tablet from the other half of the bag’s innards.

The satchel bag that I decided to go with has two mock belt fastenings on it, although these are actually held in by magnet-poppers instead. This is, to be honest, quite a relief because belt fastenings – while they offer an extra layer of security as they need to be tugged at to release – really limit quick access to the contents of the bag.

While I went for quite a standard laptop-style messenger bag, I was really impressed with the selection that was available on Trendhim. There was a lot of Crossbody, Duffel and Carry bags, most of which were available in leather in a variety of colours. The website’s product lines, which range from suit accessories through to bags & wallets, and cufflinks through to tie clips, felt really targetted at a more sophisticated audience than I would normally associate myself with, but once I started looking around the site I was really quite interested in what was on show.

You can find this bag and many other men’s accessories on Trendhim.
