Easing Chronic Pain with the Actigun Pro

Actigun Pro

*AD – the item in this review was gifted to our household for this post. All opinions, as always, are our own.

When it comes to back pain, my back is pretty bad. When I was a child, I had gotten into an accident that has effected my spine and the muscles around it. Being an American, we did not go to the doctors and instead let my back heal on my own. Since then, I have been in pain. I wake up most mornings in mild discomfort, which increases throughout the day. Some days are worse than others – sometimes standing while doing dishes will cause lightning feeling pain up my spine. Other days, I can manage it and am fine until I go to bed. It’s not something I really talk about, because it’s really just apart of my life.

In my time trying to be in less pain, I have found that back massages really help when it comes to taking pain levels from being quite high to manageable, and sometimes making them very low. With that in mind, I was really excited about trying out the Actigun Pro. These massage guns are often marketed as some sort of gym-related, health thing for those who are working out all the time, and thus aren’t too approachable to me. However, having something that can bring a bit more pressure when it comes to massaging, is always useful.

The Actigun Pro comes in a carrying case, along with six different attachments. These attachments have different uses – and in the booklet that comes with the massage gun, there are photos, which I found really useful as I wouldn’t know these attachments by their names. There is a big ball attachment, which is suitable for massaging large muscles – like your neck, a smaller ball, which is for large muscles like your spine and thigh, a Y looking attachment, which is for the neck and Achilles tendon, a small, flat yet bumpy head which is made for relaxation and shaping of various muscles, a drill looking head, which is good for meridian joint palm, the base of your foot, and other such areas, and a D looking head, which is good for relaxation and shaping different muscles as well.

My favorite head attachments are the small, bumpy flat head and the smaller ball. These two do a great job of managing my own pain on my back. I really like having the small ball used along my spine, and the flat head one used along the rest of my back, but especially near my shoulder blades. I can see how these other heads could be used to shape muscles and help manage pain after working out, which is something that people who do work out would want as apart of their routines, but having a good massage gun almost feels luxurious as well. I can spend evenings in, getting a back massage from my partner, and it doesn’t take him too much effort as the Actigun Pro does all the work.

Along with the attachment options, the Actigun Pro does have more settings! There is an on / off switch at the base of the gun. Once turned on, the display lights up. There is a speed reading and a battery level reading (as this gun does need to be charged with the included charger). Below these displays, there is a plus and minus which will allow you to increase or decrease the speed at which this gun vibrates, depending on how intense you’d like your massage to be.

We’ve had the Actigun Pro for a few weeks now, and have really enjoyed it. I find this massage gun to be so amazing when it comes to keeping my pain manageable, and it also has just helped me get more backrubs in general, as it’s such an easy thing to use. I like the case that everything comes in, despite it being a bit plain, just because it helps keep everything organised which is always a plus. Though this gun is a bit of an expensive purchase, if you are someone who finds massages really helpful, it’s worth considering getting one as they really do work and help!

If you are interested in getting yourself an Actigun Pro, for managing pain or to help develop your muscles, you can get yours from their website.

Oh my gosh, I need one of these. I get so much tightness in my neck and shoulders. This would be so great for it! I think I’ll have to put this on my wish list.

I now live in the United Kingdom, where healthcare is free. In the United States, where healthcare was really, really expensive, my family did not see doctors often/at all due to the amount of money it often costs to see one. This is something that never happens in parts of the world where there is free healthcare.
