Now, I must say that when our children were younger, I use to always make their birthday cakes! As they got older, however, and wanted more realistic cakes in designs I could no longer do, we decided to go with a local baker for our cakes and cupcakes. Since then, I have used Fantasy Cake Company for a number of different events from my own birthday (because who wants to make their own cake) to little picnics and events.

Fantasy Cake Company is a home-based bakery that is based in Harlow, England. She has SO many different flavors – we’ve previously loved Jammie Dodger (with a filling of jam!), vanilla and strawberry (also filled!) Oreo (Amelia’s absolute favorite), Blueberry (which are a lot like decadent blueberry muffins) – just to name a few. We’ve also had the raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake cupcakes which are mini-cheese cakes and have dabbled with more of her flavors. There are literally tons; banoffee, pistachio, salted caramel… it’s fantastic.

When we get cupcakes from Fantasy Cake Company, we often get fondant decorated cupcakes. We’ve done several rounds of Pokemon themed cupcakes, but have also had Robin themed (for Robin), along with SpongeBob themed most recently. Each time, these cakes have come out so well! Even if Fantasy Cake Company isn’t super interested in the theme, she’s very good at creating perfect fondant toppers. They also do printing of logos on fondant, so that you can send what you wanted.

They always are such a show stopper and her buttercream is fantastic too.
