When in Upstate New York, we ate out a lot! Probably, slightly too much, but that’s just a thing to do in the area. In a small town, you can find the Fort Ann Super Stop, which is a very small town gas station that also sells food. It’s within a stone’s throw of the house I grew up in, so when Dann and I woke up hungry, due to the time zones, we walked over to have some food. As it’s a convince store, you can purchase a selection of drinks from the cooler area, grab some snacks if you want, and order food at the deli counter.
A Ruben

I have always gotten a Ruben at the Fort Ann Super Stop. It’s just a classic! Dann ended up getting the same thing. They have a few different side dishes, but we both went with tatter tots, which are deep fried and crispy. The sandwich itself was very good – bread was buttered and toasted well, tons of meat, cheese and sauerkraut. I do love a good American-style pickle so was happy with the pickles at the side. This is a truck stop so they do bring you your food, and then you just sort your plates into little bins before you leave.
French Toast
The Fort Ann Truck Stop serves all day breakfast, so one of the days that I was there I went with my dad and got breakfast! I got a plate of French toast, which is one of my favorite breakfasts! These were well toasted and tasted good. I got home fries on the side, with peppers and onions. These could have been crispier, but were good. I also got a sausage patty which was decent too.
Scramble Egg Plate

My dad got the two egg scramble plate, with home fries (that had the onions and peppers) and some toast. He says that the Fort Ann Super Stop has the best breakfast around – great price, great size, and great taste. His breakfast was simple but it was great he said, and I am sure he’s been back since!
