Goal Power Oat Bars is a perfect Lunch Box Snack

Goal Power Oat Bars

*AD – the items in this review were gifted to our household for this post. All opinions, as always, are our own.

It’s nearly time for back to school, so one of the things our household has been doing is trying out new snacks! The kids always have packed lunches at our home, and we attempt to make them as fun as we can, with fruit picks, items cut into various shapes, a variety of colors and treats. When it comes to snack time and lunch time, it should really be fun and healthy for them. All three of the children really love trying out new snacks, and make their opinions well know. So, they were very excited to try Goal Power Oat Bars in the blueberry and strawberry flavors!

The Goal Power Oat Bar in Strawberry was the children’s overall favorite – they really liked the strawberry flavor, which was present in the bar. The blueberry bar was also good, and was quite dark in color – which is really neat to see in an all natural bar. The texture of both of these bars weren’t as hard as some oat bars are – having a crumble but being quite chewy, so I am sure younger children would be able to eat them as well. These oat bars contain no added sugar, no glueten, no palm oil, and no nuts – so they are a really well rounded treat. They are made from all natural ingredients, made primarily of British wholegrain oats, with added coconut, dates, pea protein, sunflower seeds and, of course, fruit. They are all kid-sized, making for a nice little snack or side which works very well in lunch boxes.

Goal Power Oat Bars come in a little matchbox, with an included pack of cards – which is a really neat feature. Because of these playing cards, I feel that the children would really enjoy these snacks during snack time at school, where they normally play with their friends. Before starting, you can sign your own cards so that they don’t get mixed up with another child’s cards. Then, the card game is very simple to actually play – using the included cards in the matchbox, two players make two, scuffled, piles, one of each color, face down in the middle of the playing field.

Then, the youngest player turns over a blue card in the middle of the area. If it is a blue pass card, they can then flip over another blue card. If it is a shot card, a red card is turned over. If it’s Saved, you do not earn a point, but if it’s a goal, you get to keep the goal card. Once a red card is revealed, the next player then goes, starting with blue cards. This is continued until all the cards have run out. The instructions to the game are also written on the cards, telling you what to do when you flip over a card as well as inside the box itself. The box is great for storing the cards afterwards, taking them into your bag and bringing them home!

Clearly, a lot of thought has been put into these little treats – and it shows! The Goal Power oat bars have been really well received between our family, so I am sure that they will make an appearance in our lunch boxes and backpacks this school year.

Ok, I think I need these for a pick-me-up snack for when I’m guest teaching at the school. And my older son would love these as he loves anything with oats in them. The addition of a card game is a great idea.

These look super hearty and satisfying unlike most brands where the snack bars are so small and you’re still left feeling hungry afterwards.
