[Ad – Gifted Products] Some of these science kits can be quite hit and miss, we have found. Often, we find these kits don’t turn out well or don’t feel as fun as the box makes them look. The idea of a Gummy Candy Lab sounds extremely fun, but we honestly expected the whole thing to not taste very good or have some deeply science-y things to it, that would require learning instead of having learning done casually. We were very happily surprised that not only is the Gummy Candy Lab delicious, but it’s also very fun to put together!

Robin started off using the Gummy Candy Lab to create her gummies. This kit has two different flavors of gummy candy, along with two packets of the gelatine agent (it’s a vegan kit), along with the moulds, tiny containers, stickers, and a measuring jug. You will also need a bit of oil, paper towel, a pot, a spoon, and a whisk (along with water) to complete the Gummy Candy Lab. Robin started by cutting open the gelatine agent, pouring it into a pot with the water and whisking it together. We then set it aside, I assume to bloom, and oiled our mould.

Then, we went over to the stove, where we heated up the liquid until boiling, adding in the flavor powder, and bringing it back to a boil once again. The gummy was then started to set a bit, so we made a quick job of getting it into the mould and into the fridge. I must say, everyone in the household suddenly was interested in the delicious smell from the pot. So much so, that Amelia asked if she could make the second pineapple flavor – so we get them going as well. These gummies needed to sit in the fridge for half an hour to firm up. We found both Amelia and Robin didn’t have quite enough to fill their entire tray, but it was still plenty of gummies.

Once they had set, we had a lot of trouble actually getting the Gummy Candy Lab gummies out of the moulds and ended up bending the mounts quite a bit – so I am not sure if they can be re-used. Some of these gummies we ate on their own, while other ones we put into the little container and added a spoonful of sugar, as suggested on the instructions! I am not sure what science we learned, if I am being fair, but we did have a fantastic time and these gummies tasted so much better than we expected!

I had no idea you could do gummies at home omg…I love gummy candies so much, they’re my favorite. I will check the gummy candy lab. Thanks a lot for the review.
How fun! Science has never been so much fun or so tasty. That is such a neat idea.
I would have loved something like this when I was a kid! It’s super cool. I love that the kids can actually learn something, too.
