How to update your home office

*AD/Collaboration, but as always, all views are my own.

When it comes to where you work, you can be uninspired if you have been working in the same, boring room for quite some time. We’ve previously talked about how to create a functional office, but today, we are going to look at updating your office and ensuring that the place you are working in is inspiration and able to help you work well when you are there! This article specifically looks at updating a home office.

Paint a feature wall

The walls of your office is one of the first things that you should start with your walls. Often, in most buildings these days, walls are painted a natural color; white, grey, light blue. These colors present a clean room or area, which is good, but not having a lot of color in your room can make it feel sterile, uninspiring, and just drab. You can make the decision to change all of the walls, or focus on a feature wall. Wallpapering or painting a feature wall, possible as a backdrop if you are often on camera for your job, is a really fun idea. Having this entire new wall can really update your space and make it feel more bright, colorful and fun, especially depending on the vibe you go for, for your wall.

Modernize Your Furniture

Your office furniture is a big part of your office. The chair you sit at, the desk you work at, are two things you will be using. Having office furniture that is modernized and updated, is one of the best things you can do to revamp your office. Changing your furniture, especially if it is a bit warn and old, can really change the mood of your office. At the same time, adding adding modern office furniture as sitting areas and break areas to your office can bring a better vibe to the place, as the area won’t feel specifically like a work space.

Decorate your desk

Whether you are someone who likes to keep your desk clean or cluttered with stuff, you can decorate your desk to change the feel of your office. Depending on your personal style, you can include a bunch of organization things and decorative things onto your desk. Some people style their desk with cool art pieces or small things you can fidget with. Others like covering their desk with little drawers, paper organisers, and things that help them work more efficiently. Either way, changing your entire desk can make your work area feel different.
