Keeping Children Entertained with PoundToy

PoundToys

[Ad- gifted product] With the children going back to school and back to staying home again in the evenings, we have been looking for new toys and games to limit their screen time but keep them entertained. After our last bundle of toys, we figured we’d try some new items and keep things interesting in our household. PoundToy always has many deals on their website, cheaper items for sale, and lots of bundles of goodies for you to pick up.

We picked out a bunch of toys and wanted to share what the kids loved most of all. These toys and activities have kept them busy in the run up to school and beyond – and it’s good to see them off of video games and in the moment.

Pikmi Pops Pushmi Ups Surprise Scented Plush

Surprise bags, often called loot bags, are appearing more and more in children’s toys. I picked out two of these Pikmi Pops Pushmi Ups Surprise Scented Plush toys (wow that’s a long name) as I thought they’d be fun for Amelia and Robin to play with. Those two love little stuffed and these looked adorable. Unlike other surprise bags where you just open a box or bag, these had you pushing the bottom of the pop, exploding confetti and a small toy onto the table. This little stuffed animal is scented, both of ours where chocolate-smelling, and they come with a little letter saying hello and telling you their name. They are small enough to make a good key chain and just adorable, though the confetti ended up all over the house!

Large Foam Stunt Glider Plane

PoundToy

Kai instantly gravitated towards the giant glider plane. He’s previously had a few smaller planes, which eventually had been played with to the point of destruction. This giant plane, in his favourite colour, glides well across the room and is fun to throw. You do need to put it together, which is as simple as slotting in the wings, before you start gliding around. Though it’s a simple toy, this has had a lot of use inside and outside of the house!

Touchable Bubbles

I am so glad we got two of these packs of Touchable Bubbles, as they have seemed utterly magical to all three of the children. They are pretty easy to blow and then they stick to skin, tables, and basically everything else. They are far more durable then any other bubbles I’ve ever seen and everyone really enjoyed sticking them to their fingers and catching them! These little tiny vials of bubbles can be added to string to make a little necklace, if you’d like.

Oober Oonies Rainbow Fantasy Theme Pack

Poundtoy

I don’t think I really understood exactly what this was when I ordered it. Back when I worked at Toys R Us, I think I had a better grasp on whatever new and strange toys there were, but at the moment, I just seem out of the loop. This pack contained two, very thick, plastic, slightly sticky balloons that you can blow up and put a small bead into the stopper part of it. That then creates the body of a creature. From there, you can add a bunch of provided stickers, feet, wings, horns, troll hair, and more to make your own character. Amelia loved this toy and Robin soon joined in making her own. Though they have a stand, the stand didn’t seem big enough to hold this balloon creature, so we had to use bowls, but once they were made they were fun to play with. After a few days, they do deflate, making most of their parts fall off, but you can inflate them again to continue to play with them!

Spongebob Squarepants Book of Trivia & Excuses

Our household really loves Spongebob Squarepants and Kai is really interested in telling all sorts of jokes, so the Spongebob Squarepants Book of Trivia & Excuses seemed like a good match. This book has quite a few activities, jokes and more, though it’s a double sided book for some reason so half way through all of the pages are reversed. Within a day, Kai had found the Krabby Patty Secret Formula in the book and wanted us to make burgers exactly like Spongebob Squarepants did, which he determined was the “best burger he ever had” so if you are looking for the recipe, and are not Plankton, maybe check this joke book at PoundToy!

Paw Patrol Colouring Puzzle

Robin really enjoyed the Paw Patrol Colouring Puzzle from PoundToy, which also came with three Paw Patrol crayons (though I picked up a pack of 10 Mickey Mouse Jumbo Crayons too). This puzzle is cardboard, all of the pieces come out, so you can basically colour it in however you want then take out the pieces and solve the puzzle again and again. Robin loves Sky, so having her own puzzle that she got to create herself.

There was so much more in this bundle that we are slowly working our way through, and all of it was under £50! We got some bedtime stories as well, slime, unicorn magnets and stickers, bubble fans, excavation kits, craft packs, and more. If you are looking for a bunch of little activities to keep kids busy, there is plenty of choice at a great price on PoundToy.
