As Easter is basically here, we wanted to hit a few of the limited time Easter Trails – but at places we have not been before. When looking for new gardens and parks to explore, we found the Lindt Easter Trail at Hampton Court Palace. This is an Easter trail we have never been too, at a palace we have never been to either! This trail was actually really massive as well, as the Hampton Court Palace is a huge place, and there was so much to explore.
Hampton Court Palace contains a lot of outdoor exploration and indoor exploration as well, with the trail being outside. We got our guide book and started exploring! There are tons of Lindt Easter bunnies hidden around, each with names on them of important historical figures who had some history to do with Hampton Court Palace. We were able to check them off of our guidebook and read all about them. The trail was quite straight forward and covered a lot of the ground.
The history aspect of this Easter Trail was also really well done. Kai is a big history fan, so the fact that there were different aspects of history he could then talk about and build on was very good for him – keeping him interested in what came next!
We ended up exploring the flower garden full of statues, the kitchen garden which grows a lot of different foods, and a huge maze! There were a lot of sites to see, to be honest, and we could have easily had a full day out there from morning until evening, with a picnic lunch. We ended up finding the Magical Garden, which is a seperate kids play place – fully included in the price – that had massive slides, sand pits, hills to come down and so much more. Amelia, Kai and Robin spent a lot of time here, and we even came back at the end of our hunt, as it was just so massive and so much fun.
Not well advertised, inside one of the sides of Hampton Court Palace, there were also a bunch of timed, free performances that had to do with chocolate or Easter. Sadly, we didn’t end up having the time to check them out, but it’s good to know they are there! The staff are also super helpful and willing to point you in any direction and even provide maps, so finding locations isn’t a challenge at all.
Along with the fun aspects of Hampton Court Palace, the Lindt Easter Trail does do a great job of ensuring you do check out every fountain and garden on the property, really using every inch of the land. I enjoyed seeing the different flowers, the meadow-esque bits of nature and the more manicured parts of the property – it was all so beautiful and great for taking family photos! We were also able to learn a lot from the information dotted around the bunnies.
At the end of the trail, you can hand in your score sheet for a prize; either a Lindt chocolate mini bunny or a pin of the chocolate bunnies you’ve been seeing. This pin is such a cool chocolate free option – I am so glad they decided to go all out for those who do not consume chocolate as well. We really enjoyed the Lindt Easter Trail ourselves, and the only real other point to note is that if you are driving, the carpark is not included in your ticket price!
It sounds like such a wonderful adventure filled with history, exploration, and fun. The fact that the trail was so massive and covered so much ground is truly impressive, and it’s great to hear that the history aspect of the trail was well-done and interesting for Kai. The Magical Garden sounds like an amazing place for kids to play, and it’s great that it’s included in the price. It’s also good to know that the staff were so helpful in providing maps and pointing you in the right direction.
Oh what a fun way to celebrate the holiday. The flower garden would be my favorite. Thanks for sharing.
We have visited Hampton Court before but have not done the Easter trail there. It looks like a lovely trail in a really pretty setting.
Aww how fun! A great way to kick off the Easter holiday with the season and get into the spirit of things. Looks like a nice day!
This looks and sounds like so much fun! I always love spots where you can enjoy time together as a family, but also get to learn something new. If I lived closer, I’d take my kids to go do this.
A great place to celebrate the holidays! I’m sure the kids will love it here too.
We’ve never been here but you just convince me to visit next year! I think it’s a great adventure for the kids.
I was just looking for new gardens and parks to explore and I found your site. It looks great!
What a cute Easter hunt! We love Lindt chocolate and my kids would have a blast doing this.
