When it comes to toys, after the YoYo Ball, the kids have been interested in playing with yo-yos. You see, to me, the yo-yo feels like such a classic toy, something that I had as a child, and that seems to have never gone away from toy stores. It’s a small gift that works well as a stocking stuffer or something small to give to your child as a prize. And with yo-yos like the Mega Spin Gravity Yo-Yo, there are some yo-yos out there that will help you out!

Mega Spin Gravity Yo-Yo

The Mega Spin Gravity Yo-Yo is a yo-yo has mechanic within the base, that makes it so when the yo-yo hits the end of the string, it bounces back up without you needing to do much. You can then easily catch and use it again. This does only activate if you sort of throw it out – you cannot drop this yo-yo out, but once you know how hard you need to yo-yo, it’s really useful to have the toy go back up the rope itself.

The yo-yo base of the Mega Spin Gravity Yo-Yo can be screwed apart, and the yo-yo comes with an extra string, so you can re-string it if the string itself breaks or gets too frail or dirty to use. You just will need to ensure that you screw the yo-yo back together correctly, with it not together too much or too far apart. Again, this is just something you’ll get a feel for.

The reason you do not want to have the yo-yo screwed too close together is because when you yo-yo, it actually lights up! The Mega Spin Gravity Yo-Yo will cycle through colours, on one side of your yo-yo. Robin and Amelia were really delighted each time it lit up, when they were using it, and were obsessed with showing people that the yo-yo did in fact light up. As the mechanic allowed the yo-yo to go back up the string easily, even Robin (who is 6) could easily use the yo-yo after a few practice rounds, though she never got the catching the yo-yo aspect. The only real downside of the Mega Spin Gravity Yo-Yo is that it comes in two colours; red and green – but when purchasing you cannot pick the colour you will get. This is a small caveat, but one worth mentioning! Overall, the girls really love this little toy.

My boys have a traditional yo-yo and haven’t gotten the hang of it. This would be a great introductory one. And anything that lights up is always so much better!

I used to love playing with Yo-Yo when I was little and I bet my children would enjoy the Mega Spin Gravity Yo-Yo especially since it lights up. Such a fun summer themed toy as well.
