Novo Lounge Quiz Night – Great Evening Activity

Some evenings, having a local event to head over to makes a lot of sense for us. We are a couple that enjoys going out, so we have headed to Novo Lounge for their Quiz Night a few times now! Previously, we did check out a bunch of the tapas at Novo Lounge, but after attending like three quiz nights, decided it was time to right them up! At our local Novo Lounge in Harlow, our quiz master is a fantastic guy who is always full of energy. The entry price is £3 cash, which goes to a charity, and the quiz itself is set by Redtooth, and presented by Novo Lounge themselves.

Novo Lounge Quiz Night asks everyone to get there about half an hour before the quiz starts, so that you can order a drink and start on the picture round. The picture page is handed to you, along with the answer pages, and you’ll need to solve each picture. Now, I am absolutely terrible at quiz nights. I come for the atmosphere and pretty cocktails – so I get one with ordering them. Often Novo Lounge has a two for one deal, which runs over a bit into Quiz night.

One the quiz itself begins, the host starts reading off questions and explaining categories, as a quiz normally works. He’s often making jokes, going at a very good pace, and making sure everyone is keeping along with it. Some of the Novo Lounge Quiz Nights have been themed around specific topics like The Wizard of Oz, while others have been more general, including recent news, and with sections on different topics like sports and history. It’s a good mix of information. There are also a lot of different sized teams – we are normally playing as a couple on date night, but have previously jumped on a larger team with a few of our friends from Robin’s school. It’s not a super serious quiz, no big prizes to win or the like, and it’s all a bit of a laugh.

There is a break halfway through the evening, in case people want to go out to smoke or use the toilet without missing anything. We normally take this time to ponder over the menu and order a little bite to eat – often the garlic parm fries which are fantastic, before chatting to the tables of people we know. Novo Lounge Quiz Night has such a good vibe to it, feeling very community driven, and it’s a great way to spend a Thursday evening! At the end of the quiz, we swap with other tables and the answers are read out. Then, teams scores are announced and winner is declared!

You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
