NQ64 Arcade Gaming Bar – Night Life!

We have been known to like an arcade, especially Dann who has actually been ranked in pinball, so after our friend Quang’s birthday party, when he invited a bunch of us to NQ64, we were down to go. Dann and I had not been here before, so we were interested in seeing what they had to offer when it came to arcade machines. The whole exterior looks like a night club, with lots of neon colors, and the inside matches that.

You can either take the stairs down or take the slide – we all opted for the slide, which is twisty and all of our legs might be a bit too long for, but you have to try it once. You do need to change your money into tokens in order to play on the arcade machines that take tokens. There are a few options at the bar on how many tokens you end up with. Machines take one or two tokens each, though there are a few emulators dotted about which are free to play, along with some emulator cabinets in the toilets that also don’t cost – an interesting choice.

The whole place was dark and neon, with lots of blue lights making things glow. There is a fully stocked bar with a bunch of gaming-themed cocktails, that looked like a lot of fun! We were there primarily to check out the games, so were playing. I loved that the guitar hero machines were inside their own little rooms, which means that it’s easier to hear the music from the machine. Dann enjoyed the pinball machines along with the shooter games at NQ64, of which there were a few. Our friends had said that Point Break 3 was SO challenging, and it looked it. I played some of Tapper, which had Budweiser handles along with Wreck-it-Ralph’s arcade machine.

There is plenty of seating at NQ64, in case you want to sit down and have a drink or some food. Everything does feel well thought out – there are often spaces right next to the arcade machines that you can leave your drink or phone right within eyeline, which I very much appreciated. If you’ve not been to NQ64, but are a fan of arcades, this is one for the list. It’s a very fun vibe!

You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
