Getting Outside with Brainstorm Outdoor Adventure Toys

Outdoor Adventure Brainstorm

With the weather becoming so lovely in England, we have been trying to get outdoors more! Walks, beach days, and riding bikes is such a seasonal thing, that you really do need to take advantage of the sunny weather as soon as it appears. Robin, Kai and Amelia are all really good about playing outside, but it’s always best to get a few new summer toys at the start of the season to really brighten up the idea of being out of the house and away from screens.

Outdoor Adventure Magnifier

Basically, a giant magnifying glass, the Outdoor Adventure Magnifier is a great way for those who are curious to get a better look at bugs, flowers and plants! Robin knows herself as a bit of a detective, so she really loves any type of magnifier so that she can pretend to be on the case. This one has a few circles on it, which allow even more magnifying, so that you can see really close details. We went on a little nature walk where the girls took a really close look at all of the flowers and plants that they noticed. This really allowed everyone to spent more time stopping and being aware of their surroundings, as well as looking at more close details on the various plant life we could find.

Outdoor Adventure Nature Explorer

Now, the Outdoor Adventure Nature Explorer was a real hit in our household. This toy has a big circle that you can place one of various circles inside. These circles of card are double-sided, containing a bunch of different wildlife to spot! They are themed; one has butterflies, another things from a beach, another flowers, another birds. you can look through the hole in the center to double check what you found looks like the picture. Robin and Amelia found this to be an extremely fun game of eye-spy! They were switching out the circles and trying to remember what was on other circles the entire time. We have even put this toy with our beach stuff, so that we can take it to the beach going forward. There is a hidden small compartment in the handle of the Outdoor Adventure Nature Explorer that you can put little flowers or leaves in, which Robin really enjoyed switching out and collecting. This toy also comes with a booklet where you can check off the various ones you find and learn more about them. I do wish the circle that you slide the card into was more secure, as often Robin would run forward, and the circle would fly out quite dramatically.

Outdoor Adventure Bug Viewer

The Outdoor Adventure Bug Viewer is one toy that I swear I had as a child! This little viewer allows you to place a bug into the container so that you can check it out for a while. There is a handle, a bunch of air holes, and magnifying points to them which allow you to get a better look at your bug. The bottom of the bug viewer has a picture of grass and a ladybug, which is quite nice. We found a little snail and were able to pop it in the container, carefully carrying it around. The handle is a good size and the container feels really sturdy – like you do not need to worry that the lid will unclip or anything. Everyone really enjoyed looking at the snail, especially as it started moving around and exploring the container itself!

Going on nature walks are something our family always does after dinner in the summertime, and something that we will continue to do. Having a few toys for Amelia and Robin to enjoy is always a plus. Kai has gotten a new bike for his birthday that he requested, so it’s hard to get him off of that to see the world around him, but I guess that’s the life of teenage boys!
