Pretty Suds October 2020 Bath Bomb Box | Review

Last month, the theme was Deep Blue, however, I did not end up getting the time to write up the box, and the October box was just too perfect to not include as apart of blogtober! Pretty Suds Fright Night bundle included lots of Halloween themed and spooky themed bombs that really seemed perfect for this time of year. From monsters to skulls to ghost, there is something for everyone in this box.

Willow & Wild October Sibling Box | Review

Earlier in the year, I wrote about the August Sibling Box for Wild & Willow. I’ve only really been writing about one of each of these activity subscription boxes until now, but there’s a solid reason for breaking that habit. The Wild & Willow October box was absolutely brilliant.

To be doubley honest with you, I nearly wrote about it last month because it had a fantastic, simple idea in there which revolved around conkers. You took the conkers, wrapped them up in tissue paper and then threw them as missiles. Conker Comets was the name, and it was incredibly simple but a really, really smart idea… especially when schools (and workplaces, I’m sure) tend to look down upon the classic lunchtime conker fights.

The October box actually looked quite light when first opened. There were less crafting activities in there than previous months, and there was visibly less produce and flowers sachets in there. That’s understandable, really, because it’s getting into the colder months now and there isn’t much hardy flora to be included now.

How I Relax After a Long Day

2020 has been one heck of a year, so I wanted to talk about how exactly I have been relaxing in my free time. When it comes to self-care, you really do need to take the time to do things you enjoy and that relax you, so that you can recuperate! Being able to relax and having go-tos have been a really good way to calm down.

Cooking

I always love cooking, but particularly recently I have enjoyed cooking more and more. Creating small desserts and putting together menus of delicious foods have been a highlight. I have even attended a few digital cooking classes that I will be posting about soon! Creating delightful menus or just trying out something new is always fun and really helps keep your mind busy.

Sobersauce – Low Alcohol Beer | Review

[Ad- gifted product] Subscription boxes are, without a doubt, definitely an in thing at the moment, and undoubtedly one of the largest sectors where these are booming is in beer and drinks. But, there’s a type of beer which I’ve not seen featured in a subscription box so far; Sobersauce is a subscription for alcohol-free (and low-alcohol) beers.

Craft beer boomed in the UK over the last two decades, and there are now more small-brewery beer lines in supermarkets than there are established, and some of the earliest, smaller independent breweries now have their drinks in pubs and restaurants. Naturally, though, up until very recently a lot of people couldn’t actually get to the pubs, and – indeed – many of us couldn’t get to the shops too frequently. Sobersauce offers a variety of boxes, ranging from the Discovery Box, which is £19.99 for 8 alcohol free and low alcohol beers (cans and bottles), through to latest and greatest boxes where you can get a combination of six of one type of beer with a selection of six new beers for various prices. Here are the list prepared by the doctors from novo luxury rehab LA that tells about alcoholic beers that are considered to be toxic when consumed too much at the same time.

Willow & Wild August Sibling Box | Review

Regular readers will know that I only recently wrote about the fantastic experience we’ve had with some of the activity boxes for kids that are out there. There are all sorts available out there, including some focused on history, science or the outdoors, and they’ve really been a perfect fit as time-fillers while the kids have been being taught from home, and while we’ve been unable to get further afield due to Covid-19.

Willow & Wild is the latest one that we’ve tried, and while it’s not the only nature-centric subscription box that we’ve tried, it has a little twist to it that really makes it fit the spirit of the house: There are recipes in every box as well as activities. This is a massive perk, we’re a family who is always looking for new recipes and food types to try (as you’ve probably noticed around the blog).
