Pick Your Poison Boozy Truffles | Review

I was looking for a more upscale, adult candy for this year’s Halloween. Just because kids are the ones trick or treating, doesn’t mean adults can’t have a Halloween themed candy treat! Dann came across the Pick Your Poison Boozy Truffles from Fortnum & Mason – and it seemed perfect! I’ve not had boozy truffles before, but am a big truffle fan.

These truffles weren’t overwhelmingly boozy, they tasted subtle in their alcohol-related flavors, which felt perfect for what we wanted. Our box had two truffles that were duplicated, but the rest had one of each listed. The flavors we got were: Fortnum’s Bellini Truffle (we got two of these), Pink Marc De Champagne Truffle, Fortnum’s Kir Royale Truffle, Fortnum’s London Gin with Lime (we got two of these), Milk Chocolate Port Wine Truffle, Fortnum’s London Gin with Orange, Dark Chocolate Cognac Truffle and Milk Chocolate Whisky Truffe.

My personal favorites were the London Gin with Lime and London Gin with Orange – these tasted like their respective citrus, where as Dann loved the Fortnum’s Kir Royale truffle – which had a cherry taste to it, and the Bellini Truffle, which was very lovely. These truffles all tasted very good, with the whisky and champagne being the most alcohol-flavored. Truffles have a harder chocolate outside, with a smooth, creamy middle that you can sink your teeth right into.

The box felt like Halloween, with spooky motifs on it, an orange background and such – and the idea of them being poison felt like it fit in well! We both really enjoyed this box – it’s perfect to split between two people both wanting to try some truffles. Often dipping into a candy bag might be tempting, but why not treat yourself with something much nicer this year!

This post is apart of our Blogtober series, all with a Halloween or Autumn theme.
