Pretty Suds May 2020 Bath Bomb Box | Review

Pretty Suds

After my first Pretty Suds monthly bath bomb box, I was pretty excited for the theme of Unicorns vs Mermaids! As always, this box came with five different bath bombs of a variety of sizes and shapes. Last month, all of the bath bombs were clouds, so it was nice to see all of these different designs! The coloring is really beautiful in each bomb as well, with two coming from the Mermaid side and two coming from the Unicorn side, as well as one mystery bomb to even it out.

Unicorn Bath Bombs

From the unicorn side of the theme we have two bath bombs, though one is not quite a bath bomb in my opinion and more of a horn-shaped bag full of bath bomb dust! This pink and yellow unicorn horn has patchouli, peppercorn and black pepper in it, giving it a very interesting smell! I quite like the amount in this, making it one of the bigger bath bombs technically, but it’s not hard to split into multiple baths as you don’t need to cut the bomb itself. It’s very fun! The other unicorn bomb, the purple and blue unicorn mascot comes in sparking citrus and smells much like that – like a citrus perfume.

Mermaid Bath Bombs

When it comes to the mermaid side of the theme, there is a smaller, blue and yellow anchor themed bath bomb that is scented with bergamot and lemongrass – a nice size for a smaller bath or if you are one to split your bombs into two normally! The other is a mermaid mascot, though not nearly as impressive as the unicorn mascot, as this mascot is simply printed on the side of a coin shaped bath bomb. This mascot is scented with orange, spices and patchouli.

The middle ground bath bomb is much simple in color, being completely white with flecks of blue and pink. It’s said that if your bath turns blue you are team mermaid but if your bath turns pink your team is unicorn. This was my least favorite design, but it made up greatly in smell, which is stated as sweet berry – but smells like the most delicious candy shop you’ve ever walked into. For me, the smell made up greatly.

Overall, I found this box to be quite lovely. I do like the variety in the different scents and designs – especially as they had split these bombs between two themes. I kind of wish there was just one theme to this box – a dedicated mermaid box and a dedicated unicorn box – but as a mix it is nice. Unlike Lush bath bombs, these bombs are less dense (which is why I tend to photograph them in their bags, as I don’t want to break bit of them off) and do fizz more.

The theme for next month’s Pretty Suds box is Rocket Man, which we are pretty excited for. If you’d like to get 20% off your first box, you can use any of the links in this article.

The box I get (just bath bombs) is £9.95 a month, plus shipping. The themes and scents are different each month. You can use any of the links in the article for 20% off the first month as well. There are other boxes, like one that has wax melts in it and one that has bath bombs and wax melts which are similarly priced, and you can get 20% off your first box of those using the urls in the article too. 🙂
