It feels like 2026 is flying by! March was a month of being at home, going out on lots of walks, so many little activities, and a lot of seeing how much our children have grown. There just is something so lovely about the transition between winter and spring, that I always am in love with. This month, I had so many lovely moments with friends and enjoyed so much time with Dann. Kai also had his 16th birthday – he’s grown so much in the last few years. I wrote up a little entry on each day of our March, as a part of Project 365. Some bloggers do this weekly, some daily, and some monthly like me. You can check out the other blogger’s post at the end of this post.
March 1st – Pokemon Go and a Dinner
Today was a very long Sunday! I started off the day early, with a big Pokemon Go event. Dann, Amelia, Robin and I all went out until lunchtime. After some lunch, Dann and I did another round of Pokemon, before Dann headed home to start a DnD group that he was running for all of the day. I stayed out for a bit longer, doing a lot of raids, before heading into London for a late birthday dinner with a friend. We had a really lovely time, at a nice place to eat, and I ended up staying in London for the evening.
March 2nd – DnD on Monday
I woke up a bit late, had a walk in the sunshine with my friend, and then headed back home. I had some work todo in the afternoon, before I convinced Dann to head out at sunset to take some photos! We had a nice walk around and I snapped some fantastic photos – I am really loving my new camera! I picked up lunch boxes, started dinner, and did work until DnD started. Then, I served up dinner, ate myself, and did some chores until everyone left and I headed to bed.
March 3rd – Tabletop Tuesday
Today was back to normal! I woke up, did packed lunches, and noticed that a bunch of street artists are spray painting a few of the walks that I take almost daily. This is a part of our town trying to reinvent itself, and I am glad to see more color especially with all the gloom! It is a tabletop day, so I prepped some vegetarian lasagna with lentils, and made some puddy-based pies. We played Spot the Intro, which was just an OK game, and I was very happy to see all my friends. Tuesdays no longer have Pokemon, as they’ve removed the in-game event, which is a bit of sad point!!
March 4th – Raid Hour and a Movie
Today I woke up, did the pack lunches, walked them over, and then just did a bunch of work. And I mean a bunch! I feel so behind today, but made a really good dent. Amelia had her school parent-teacher meetings, where they said she was fantastic and has lots of options for her future – what a lovely thing to hear. In the afternoon we picked up Amelia and went to Raid Hour, where we all had a very fun time catching Pokemon, before dropping her back off and Dann and I went to the movies. We met with a bunch of friends and saw Cold Storage, which was a pretty okay movie, before heading home and heading to bed.
March 5th – Brighton!
After dropping off lunches today, Dann and I went right to Brighton! We had a meeting to see a new venue for our event in July, a gaming expo, so went to view that. Dann and I went along early, I took one of my work meetings there, and then we hung out taking pictures and walking the pier. It was honestly a super amazing day – sun out, beautiful weather. We had a drink on the beach, met up with Quang, and then went out for a big steak dinner. It was a fantastic time! We then headed home and I found that Pokopia had been delivered, so I grabbed myself a Switch 2 and started playing late into the evening.
March 6th – Star Wars Event
Today was the normal packed lunch dance, before I headed off into London for a Star Wars Unlimited event. I got the chance to get hands on with the newest expansion, at Disney HQ, where I also met a person who acted in Star Wars. It was a pretty fun day! I went along with Liam, who then went with me to dinner and to BAFTAS, for their games social. It was a long, lots of meeting people type of day, but was very good! I came home just after dinner, played Pokopia with Amelia and Robin, and then went to bed.
March 7th – Lazy day!
Not going to lie, everyone just wanted to play Pokopia. We woke up, Amelia started playing her island on her switch. Robin started playing her island on her switch. I played my island on my switch. That became the entire afternoon! Kai played some strategy game with Dann, and then headed to the gym in the later afternoon. We had a very lazy day. In the evening, Robin and I went to the roller disco, then we all headed off to our favorite buffet for dinner, before heading home and going to bed.
March 8th – Movie with Friends
Today was more Pokopia in the morning, then we went out to play Pokemon Go in the town centre, for a sort of event day where lengendary Pokemon spawned in the wild. We had a lot of fun walking around (Kai went to the gym) before we all met up to watch Hoppers with two of Amelia and Robin’s friends. This was a very good movie, very funny, especially for a kid’s film! We then headed home and had dinner, before getting ready for school tomorrow (and more Pokopia).
March 9th – Girl’s Night
Today felt like a very normal Monday. We packed lunches, got off to school, and then I spent the day getting a lot of work done! When school ended, I did a little litter pick around Robin’s school before picking her up and heading to our local Geek Retreat. They had some Pokemon Cards in stock, which Amelia opened. We played Burger Balance, which is a really fun tactile feeling game, before heading home. We spent some time getting ready before heading out for a quick Max Monday, catching some Pokemon, then settling in for the evening with a movie, face masks, and painting our nails. The movie this time was SpongeBob Squarepants the Movie, which was a lot of fun, before DnD ended and we all headed off to bed.
March 10th – Giving a Talk
Tuesdays no longer have Pokemon, so they feel very boring. We woke up, got lunches packed and kids off to school, before I settled in for a day of work. I did play probably too much Pokopia today, but it’s such a fun game! In the evening, Dann and I did a bit of hanging out together, before I was off to teach. I speak at the National Film and Television school several times a year, and this time I was giving a talk on audience development and marketing for video games, to their Certificate students. It was very well received before more Pokopia, popcorn, and some drinks.
March 11th – Wednesday Raids and Movie
Today was a busy Wednesday! We packed lunches, dropped them in, and I had a bunch of work meetings today. We then went out in the afternoon to attend Amelia’s meeting about her trip to Belgium in a few weeks. Amelia was at her other house and that parent didn’t take her, which was a huge shame as the meeting was very much full of information for her. This isn’t surprising though… Dann and I made sure all her info was in before heading to Raid Hour. I levelled up in Pokemon Go to level 76!! It was a food bank collection day, which is always fun, before Dann and I went to the movies. We saw How to make a Killing which I had high hopes for, and the movie feel short. It just didn’t seem as fun as it could have been! Then, we went home, packed up the food bank donations for tomorrow, and went to bed.
March 12th – Taylormania
Today, it was a very normal morning of waking up, packed lunches, getting them off to school, working and then picking up Robin. Thursday nights are often just chill, but I was invited to the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch for their Taylormania event – so I took Robin and Amelia with me! The girls had a fantastic time – Amelia recorded most of it and took tons of pictures, Robin told me what songs she thought would be sung next and screamed her heart out. It was a fantastic (and tiring) school night. We then headed home, I had a call with my dad and everyone else headed to bed.
March 13th – Preform, Cupcakes and more
Today had the normal morning of packing lunches and sending kids off to school, with me and Dann working and doing a bunch of errands. Fridays are super busy in our house! After everyone got back from school, Amelia and I went on a little photography walk, Kai to the gym and Robin to her preform in her King’s costume. She has a major role this time and is very pumped – with her own song and everything! Everyone met back up at home for dinner before Amelia and I went to our cupcake class, this time creating Funky Food cupcakes, which were primarily with icing, creating figures. It was a lot of fun! We then all went home and went to bed after eating some of the cakes.
March 14th – Pokemon, Street Art and a Play
I must say, this Saturday was PACKED. We started off the day by heading up town early for the Harlow Street Art festival, where Amelia and Robin got to paint some of the street art (Kai was too cool for it), before they headed to their other house. Dann and I, in the afternoon, hosted a Pokemon community event, checking out all of the street art and seeing it’s progress. I recorded some of the videos for our local newspaper and took pictures for them, before Dann and I headed to London for the evening. We saw the The Sarah McGuinness Story which was a very interesting and personal performance, before heading home and heading to bed.
March 15th – Rest and Pokopia
Today I primarily worked on my book and had a low-key day of hanging out. I spent some time on Pokopia as well, getting my islands all cozy and making sure my Pokemon had places to sleep. Dann and I went on a little nature walk, to take photos with our matching cameras, which was a lot of fun. We also got all of the shopping done for the week and bought loads of fun fruit to eat, which was such a fun time. It was a cozy, at home kind of day.
March 16th – Normal Monday
Today was very much a work Monday, as a co-worker of mine is taking the next two weeks off, there was a fair bit of handover so that I could cover for her. I got quite a lot done, along with the normal dropping off packed lunches and serving food for DnD. Emily, a friend of mine who’s partner plays DnD decided to hang out at ours, so we chatted in the kitchen, which was super lovely. I also went out for Pokemon Go in the town centre, with Dann, so that we both could take some photos too! We are trying to do a little photography walk every single day.
March 17th – McDonald’s Card Game Press Event
After lunches were handed in today, I went right to speeding through meetings and work, before I went into London for the launch of the McDonald’s new collectable trading cards. Dann had meetings, so I went on my own! The event was at a card shop in London, where we all got to check out the cards, open some packs, eat McDonalds and meet other influencers. It was a good time and I got a really cool amount of merch too. I then headed home in time for a little photo walk with Dann before we had our friends over for Table Top. Matt cooked this time, so I just made some quick cream pies for dessert. We played Yes or No, which was a fun little game about tripping out each other’s words, before going to bed.
March 18th – Movies and Raid Hour (with Ducks)
This morning, I dropped in Kai’s lunch taking pictures along the way before bouncing over to Robin’s school to drop in hers. This is what I do every day, but today my pictures were really good on my walk! The daytime today was a primarily work-based day, with an interesting thing! I got the chance to watch a new movie that’s not coming out until October of this year, ahead of it’s release! I can’t talk about it yet, but keep your eyes pealed… Then, we went to Raid Hour in town, which as always was a lot of fun. Amelia gets to come along now every other week, and had a fun time with her friends and seeing the rest of the street art now that it was all finished. There were tons of ducks walking around our town centre, which was so cute! Dann and I then went to see Arco at the cinema, as an Unlimited Members screening, which was so much fun.
March 19th – Seeing a Gig
Today I dropped off lunches before doing a bunch of work, then heading off after lunch to get to Bristol. I have been visiting a friend more since the end of last year, as he is back in England! After a long train ride, I ended up in Bristol to see The Scratch at a record shop, which was a lot of fun. Dann went along to Amelia’s art night at her school, which she went to (but her other parent didn’t) and sent loads of pictures and videos. I am so proud of what she is doing and what she has achieved! I spent the night in Bristol and had a fun evening out.
March 20th – Bristol and Home
Now, today was a bit of a bumpy day. Dann went along to Robin’s Rocksteady concert this morning, which she told me I could miss for my gig as I haven’t missed it before. Dann sent loads of pictures and videos along, which was super cute. I had a bit of a lazy morning before going to my train, which I missed despite being on time and on the platform. Once I had missed this train, there was no point in taking the next one as I would be back too late for the school run anyway, so Dann said that I should just enjoy my dad. I got the best sandwich in Bristol with Gary and hung out until after lunch, walking around a park and enjoying the sunshine. I got back home after everyone was home from school, Kai at the gym and Robin at preform. I hung out with Amelia for the evening before making dinner and settling in for bed.
March 21st – Pokemon and Friends
The weather has been fantastic lately! I woke up early, went to the shops to grab some foods for breakfast, and then settled in for the day. We had Robin and Amelia’s friends over from 10am, so Dann cracked out the pizza oven and we had our first pizza party of the season. Kai went into town to have some time with his mates, playing pool and bowling, for his birthday. After lunch, we went out to Pokemon for their research day, which was full of shinies for Amelia and I, before we all headed back home (with more of Amelia and Robin’s friends) for the evening. I made dinner, we watched them all play a bunch of games, and then I had some work to do in the evening while they were picked up, and we all settled into bed.
March 22nd – Sunday with Family (and a walk)
Today was a lazy Sunday, with a lot of Pokopia and playing in the back garden as the weather was so nice. We all went on a family walk to a local pond, with Robin checking out a new stick-based toy (review coming), Dann, Amelia and I taking pictures, and Kai talking about his day. We were celebrating his birthday that evening with family, but he already got his gifts yesterday and was buzzing about it! I cannot believe he’s turned 16 now. (His actually birthday is Tuesday, but a weekend is best for celebrating). Kai is now working on moving in full time at ours, at the end of the school year, which has been an interesting process. In the evening, we met up with the Kai’s grandparents for a dinner at a steak house, which he picked out, before heading home and going to bed.
March 23rd – Monday Teaching
Today everyone got up, we packed lunches, and then everyone went off to school. I had a lot to do, so I prepped dinner and did some work before Dann and I went out to try the new KFC Pickle Mania menu. This was very interesting, and you can read my full thoughts on the individual post about the KFC Pickle Menu. Dann then took me to give an in-person talk at the National Film and Television school, this time for their Screen Arts course. My talk was on community building and marketing in games. It was in person, which is quite rare, and went well. I then headed back home in time to meet everyone after they had been at Geek Retreat, before going out for Max Monday. It was a bigger Max Monday this time, as the Pokemon was a legendary! We picked up one of Robin’s friends and headed home for me to serve dinner to the DnD people and to the kids. Amelia, Robin and Robin’s friend had girls night, watching Matilda. They had a lot of fun! I stuck around in the kitchen with Emily, who stayed to keep me company, and it was just a lovely night.
March 24th – A Tuesday
Once lunches were done and kids were off to school, I spent the day getting on with work. I had a lot of work to do, so just stuck to it, and did get tons done. In the afternoon, Dann and I went to Costco to eat all the samples and have a big restock. We then headed home, where I continued to work into the evening. It was a simple day, in the evening I played Pokopia and gave my final talk for the month – digitally – on IP-based Roblox games to the National Film and Television school, which was so much fun. I cannot wait to speak again.
March 25th – Busy Wednesay
Dann and I did the normal school lunch box drop off, but I got caught in the rain so Dann picked me up. I had also packed Robin a different lunch then planned, so left her a note, which she wrote back to me on! We then headed home, where I got work done, before heading to our local Wagamamas because I had a birthday Goyza reward that I couldn’t use due to them being out of goyza! As an apology, they gave me a gift certificate, so Dann and I got a few starters and some drinks. We then walked around the town centre before it started hailing!! So, we swiftly went home and did a touch more work before heading out for Raid Hour. Raid Hour was a fun one, with quite a few shinies caught. We then rushed off to the Potter Street Fete meeting before going to the movies to watch Project Hail Mary, which was heartfelt, though a little long, then I went home and went right to bed.
March 26th – Lazy Day
Today was a bit of a different day, as Amelia had a trip just after midnight! We dropped off lunches, before Dann and I headed to London for the B.Box press event for their new Superman range. We got back in time to do a bit of work, with me doing a litter pick at Robin’s school before picking her up. We then headed home, where Amelia started packing for her school trip. We made sure she had absolutely everything before having an early dinner and settling down for the evening. Kai has started re-arranging his room to accommodate the gaming computer he got for his birthday this year. Dann had a lot of little tasks to do, before we all went to bed early. Dann and I woke up at midnight to get Amelia to her trip on time, which I guess is the next day, but sure doesn’t feel like it!
March 27th – Half Days and Perform
Today, the adults in the house were a bit tired this morning! Kai and Robin had a big buzz about them in the morning, as it’s the last day of school before Easter break. Both of them got out of school early, so Dann and I spent the little bit of the day we could working before the various pick-ups. Kai then went to the gym and Robin went for a little hair cut. Robin and I decided to stop and get some drinks and snacks from Starbucks, and Kai appeared up town for a drink himself. We then all went home and got ready for Robin’s Preform, as it was time for their show. Robin did fantastic! She had a huge part, with lots of solo signing, and did an amazing job of it all. It’s so lovely to see her shine like this. We then headed home, had some dinner, and went to bed early for the evening.
March 28th – DreamHack Day 1
This morning, we woke up and got Kai and Robin ready for the day, playing some games together before they headed off. Dann and I then went into town to run some Pokemon Go Max battles! This was so fun as it was the retro-style chunky Pikachu. Once the event was over, Dann and I decided to go to DreamHack early, as we were invited as press. We were just going to go Sunday, but decided to go so that we could hang out with Quang. DreamHack had just a few games, so we arrived, met up with a bunch of our friends, and stayed until closing so that we could catch some dinner with Quang. We went to Dave’s Hot Chicken, which had fantastic mac n cheese, and then headed to a hotel for the night.
March 29th – DreamHack and a Movie
We woke up today and went right to DreamHack, where we hung out with a few friends and got a bit of lunch, before playing the rest of the games there. Once we had seen everything, which was slightly after midday, we headed home. Dann and I did some light cleaning and weekend stuff before heading to the movies to see They Will Kill You. I got to be the first person in my town to order the Mario Popcorn, which was a little expensive for an add-on! The movie itself was good, a little silly, a little full of gore. We then headed home and went to sleep.
March 30th – Work then London
Today I had a lot of work to do in the morning, including a bunch of meetings. I was pretty glad to not have to drop off a packed lunch! After I had got a lot of my work done, Dann and I had hot-pot for lunch and I prepped some food for DnD this evening. Then, I headed into London to hang out with a friend. I took some pictures of the golden sky in the evening, as the sun was really having a fantastic time. We did a lot of talking and had dinner, which included deep-fried lasagne bites with pepperoni with hot honey!
March 31st – Pokemon and Tabletop
Today I woke up in London and had a bit of a work morning before going out to lunch with a friend. I had some Korean food, walked around London a bit, and then headed home to get more work done before the evening. Dann and I went out to Pokemon Go, for Spotlight Hour which is back for this week only, so there were some of our very good friends out and about. It was so much fun hanging out with everyone! We then headed back to ours to prep dinner for Tabletop. We had probably the best time we have ever had playing a tabletop game! Everyone was making jokes, laughing, and having so much fun. It was just a lovely, lovely evening. Dann and I went to bed quite late, ending our March.

This looks like another great and busy month full of fun things. Brighton is one of my favourite places to go. I love the shops, cafes and walking along the pier.
You certainly had a very busy and eventful March. I love the idea of project 365 and it is a great way to look back on in years to come as well
Project 365 is the best, I love the idea. You had a wonderful March, so much fun. Wish you a wonderful April.
Pokemon and DnD? It’s true what they say. The family that nerds together stays together!
Man, I wish you guys were my neighbors. I’ve been playing Pokemon Go from the jump (as well as all the games), and I’m a HUGE DnD nerd. Plus, you guys eat WELL.

It looks like you’ve had a terrific March! Your cats are super cute by the way! I’m a cat mum too!
We were in London looking for Pokemon cards and someone mentioned Pokopia. It sounds like you liked it, might get it for my son.
