Vegan Junk Food at Seitans

After a long day of work in Canada, I was invited by a bunch of vegans out to dinner! I do love trying new food, and they all very much wanted to go to Seitans. We ended up being a party of ten, all excited to try some vegan pizza, fries, and other foods. The waitress at Seitans explained that everything is 100 percent vegan, with most things being made in-house, so they know there isn’t anything cross-contaminating the food. The vegans in our party were very excited!

Korean Hawaiian Pizza

I ordered the Korean Hawaiian Pizza at Seitans, which had gochujang aioli, ham, kimchi, pineapple, chedda, sesame seeds, green onions and cilantro. It was a very interesting pizza! From the sauce which had a lot of flavor, to the vegan cheese which was a nice level of cheesey. I do not care for vegan deli meat, so for me, the ham could have been excluded, but that is a personal preference. I did like how out there this pizza was – I’ve not had anything like it!

Fries Supreme

I also had some Fries Supreme, which are crispy French fries, tossed in their house seasoning, with queso sauce, green onions, beef crumble, cashew sour cream, and cilantro. It was well seasoned, very crispy, and the vegan beef was well cooked too. I liked the amoint of sauce on there! This dish could also be upgraded to loaded tater tots, which is a fun idea.

Banh Mi

Most of us got pizza, but one of my friends got a Banh Mi as a thing to try with their pizza, and let me have a bite! This was a sandwich with lime chicken, hoisin sauce, garlic aioli, cucumber, pickled carrots and cilantro. The sandwich was very flavorful and the texture of the vegan chicken was good too. It tasted like a really well done banhi mi.

I actually also ordered a cheesecake to go, from their specials menu, which was rhubarb. This was creamy, delicious, and had tons of topping. I struggle with dairy but love cheesecake and found this one to be absolutely perfect. I ate it later that evening at my hotel and do regret not having a photo!

The Banh Mi looks really good! I really miss the vegan restaurant we had nearby even though I am a meat eater! My favorite was the “smoked salmon” so many layers of yummy goodness!

It’s nice to know they offer Banh Mi! I got to try it when we visited Vietnam, and it was so good. I’d love to try their version and see how it compares!
