[Ad – Gifted Products] Every year we throw a big Halloween party, and I can see Splatterbrain working out well as a party game! It’s essentially a giant zombie head, which you fill up with an oozy slime and a bunch of body parts. Then, everyone takes turns (or races!) to try to find specific pieces. There are a few game modes listed on the tag; filling up your zombie head with parts, finding matching parts or racing to find one specific thing are the suggested ways to play.

To set up Splatterbrain, you need to pour out the slime mixture and add water. It doesn’t tell you how much water to add, but when I made it by filling up some of it with water, the slime did come together! it was more of an oozy, gummy slime (like an American pudding!) which was really quite sticky and gross, but very easy to wash out. I can see children really enjoying how silly it all is, especially around Halloween. Robin very much wanted to play in it and kept playing with the brains after everyone was done, where as Amelia was more apprehensive about sticking her hands in the slime! Kai was aimed at winning, and that’s his focus.

We played the version of the game where everyone tried to fill up their zombie head, by taking turns, to sort of get use to the slime of Splatterbrain. Everyone was very calm, to be honest, and just squealing at how gross the slime was. There are tons of different, plastic body parts that you can pull out to fit into your zombie head, including some body parts like tongues or intestines, that do not go in the head. If you pull out a part that doesn’t go, you need to return it and try again. This is probably the least messy way to play! At the end, we all tried to race to find the brain in the goop, just fighting each other’s hands and playing in the slime, which was more chaotic and messy.

Splatterbrain is pretty easy to clean up, and you can put the lid on the top and store it in the fridge to keep the slime fresh for a few days. It is quite big, however, so I don’t think it would really fit in our fridge! I am surprise there is only one packet of slime mix – making this more of a one and done game. I wish there was a few, but the container does make for a fun trick-or-treat bucket.
