If you frequent this blog (or my instagram) you may have noticed that we love the Artbox Cafe! We have been there for Pusheen and Gudetama, but when Gudetama got a spooky look (and spooky treats added to the menu) we had to go back down to Brighton to try out some of the new Halloween-themed treats! Along with their regular menu of delicious treats – ice creams, cheese cakes, soups, and sandwiches, there is a select dessert menu with a drink for the spooky Autumn season.
We, of course, tried both of these desserts, as well as the Pumpkin Spice latte, and had a lovely time! As always, Claire went along with us. Let’s get into it.
Vampy Vanilla Pudding
The vanilla pudding stood out to both Dann and I instantly. We we really interested in what this was going to taste like! The middle, spooky Gudetama the lazy egg centrepiece, was a vegan vanilla pudding – which is a bit thicker than non-vegan versions I have had in the past. Underneath was a delicious and sweet raspberry sauce, along with a scoop of black sesame ice cream and pumpkin spice ice cream, berries, fruity popping balls and vampire teeth gummies! If you have never had sesame ice cream, it’s a nutty flavor that is very unique. Pumpkin spice was also interesting and something quite different, but both were very good. This desert is one I really enjoyed!
ZZZombie Web Waffle
This waffle was actually chocolate flavored, with chocolate sauce, white chocolate cobweb, chocolate chips, mint chocolate ice cream, edible spiders and mint candy eyeballs. The mint ice cream is very mint – like minty fresh mint – almost too overwhelming if you don’t love your mint chocolate chip minty. The waffle has a great texture and is very fun! I loved the look of the eye candy – and the edible spider is printed on edible paper. Very clever idea! It’s a filling dessert.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
This was one decked out pumpkin spice latte! It had whipped cream, gold sprinkles – which were soft and not hard and crunchy – maple syrup and cinnamon! I got mine with oat milk and dairy free whipped cream, which both tasted really lovely. The drink was wonderful – quite cinnamon first, and nice and warm. Perfect for a warm day. A little edible paper pumpkin sat on top, which I ate up. Along with every drink you get during this spooky season, you get a free seasonal coaster. We got the vampire design – which seems to be the only spooky design they have.
The Spooky Gudetama the Lazy Egg x Artbox Cafe & Boutique does have a bunch of little items for sale downstairs – this included most of the items we saw last time, but there were a few Halloween touches! A special, exclusive pin to this time of year can be found in the shop, as well as zombie Hello Kitty face masks, big Gudetama plushes all dressed up for Halloween and more. I did not spend a lot of time in the boutique taking pictures this time, due to the limit of 6 people in the boutique at a time – it was a bit of a busy time so I collected my items to purchase and headed out. There is plenty to look at though!
This post is apart of our Blogtober series, all with a Halloween or Autumn theme.

Oh Boy! I wish I lived near Brighton..I’d love to go to the Artbox Cafe, it looks totally amazing! The puddings look so delicious but I think the spiced Pumpkin Latte would be my favourite. Might have to plan a holiday in Brighton 🙂
