Supporting a Charity this Christmas with Soap from Papyrus

*AD – the item in this review was gifted to our household for this post. All opinions, as always, are our own.

Christmas is a very hard time for a lot of people within the UK. Being home is often not ideal for those who don’t have a family to go home too or don’t have a place that they feel comfortable being themselves in. This time of year reminds people of their family, especially if it’s fractured or not idea. It’s a stressful time financially for many, as pressure to spend money on others or not having enough is heavily greatened.

This year, Christmastime is probably going to be worse for most, as COVID has changed the playing field when it comes to visiting families. Many will have to make the decision on if it is safe to visit their loved ones, others will have to follow government guidelines which may say we are all stuck at our own homes. With all of this in mind, Papyrus, a charity which is focused on the prevention of young suicide, has partnered with SoapSisters this Christmas to help spread HOPE through soap.

They are selling two different bars of soap; teal soap scented with rock salt and driftwood and purple soap scented with berries. Both of these soaps come with a little bath bomb as well. They are being sold for £5.50 with £1.50 of each bar going to Papyrus’ helpline, HOPELINEUK. This helpline is open for young people who are struggling with thoughts of suicide or people concerned for young people, which is a well needed cause. They also offer the ability to text them or email – something that young people might feel more comfortable doing.

Everyone is in need of a little selfcare – and soap is always a popular Christmas gift, so why not get some soap with meaning behind it? Suicide is the main cause of death in young people – of all genders – under the age of 35 in the UK. Papyrus is looking to help people who are struggling, through offering resources, providing information, and just being a place that young people can reach out too, if they are feeling particularly down and lonely. Often feeling like they don’t have anyone to turn too, people can turn to Papyrus, even at their lowest points.

These soap bars are beautiful, with an Ombre effect and glitter on the top, and smell simply wonderful. We got to try the purple berry soap, and really have enjoyed it. You can purchase your own, supporting these well-deserved charity, through the SoapSister’s website.

What a wonderful idea! I love the idea of buying gifts for birthdays, Christmas, etc that also give back to charities. That soap looks so pretty and shimmery! At least I think it’s shimmery. I can’t tell for sure!
