Fancy Dinner at El Brellin

Dann and I wanted to go to a more fancy dinner while in Milan, and what better place than along the river in Vicolo dei Lavandai! There was tons of night life in the area, lots of different restaurants, but we walked along until we saw El Brellin tucked away, with upscale Italian food. Previously, this building was an old grocery store, where women who washed clothing would grab supplies. The layout hasn’t changed much, still showcasing the 1700s fireplace and coffered ceilings. We were excited to try the menu after seeing some of the selection. They have an ever changing menu, so I cannot find an accurate menu of what we had, so these names may have changed.

Museum of Senses – Unique, Playful Museum

I am a fan of strange or more interactive museums and lately we’ve been hitting them all. When deciding what to do for our day, Dann picked out the Museum of Senses, which was a really fantastic choice. This is a great place for fun-loving adults or kids alike. We went in early afternoon, on a Monday, so had the whole place to ourselves, which was a nice bonus. My feet were pretty tired from walking everywhere, so the idea that we were going to take them off and wear the socks felt very fun! The ticket price does not include their special socks, which are an extra 3 Euros, just as a warning.

Seeing the Historical Doumo

Dann is one of those people that really enjoy historical sites, so when the option to go inside the Doumo came up, he was excited and wanted to see it. As someone who’s not a huge fan of religion, I wasn’t as bothered about going inside, personally. It’s worth noting that you need to dress modestly to go inside the Doumo, which means your knees need to be covered and you cannot wear straps or low-necked items. As a warning, there are also a lot of scam sites out there that can try to trick you into purchasing tickets there, so make sure you are using the official site.

Lots of options for lunch at Slice Milano

When looking for somewhere to get lunch while in Milan, we wanted to get some pizza. Dann and I are hit and miss with pizzas, often not being impressed by the toppings they have as options in places we’ve previously been, so when we saw Slice Milano, we thought it looked a little different and fun. This is a pizza place that does pizza by the slice, where you can get a bunch of different slices instead of having to get a whole or half of a pizza. Their slices are quite large in size and feature a thicker crust, as they seem to be baking each individual slice that you order, to order.

Miaoka Cat Cafe – Small but cute cats

Dann and I both really like going to cat cafes. We have gone to quite a few, in a few different countries, so we always keep our eye out for little cats in windows. While walking back to our hotel from a tourist stop, we spotted a cat in a window, which turned out to be a cat cafe! Miaoka Cat Cafe was quiet when we went in, as we came in at a strange time for a Monday I think, and so we had the place to ourselves.
