We live in a world that is on the internet, full of people using the various websites and dating apps to end up with someone forever. Find the Best Angle
One of the things that really first helped me get use to my face and take more flattering selfies was through exploring different angles. Some angles make your face look different than others – just straight on can sometimes be less flattering then the side of your face, for example. When you are ready to start taking pictures of yourself, do spend some time playing around with angles and find the best angle for your own face. This does take some trial and error, with slight adjustments here and there, until you are confident in yourself and the look you’d like. Once you have found a few angles you like, they become your go-to, which will make you like more of your pictures generally! Do remember lighting though, as lighting is ever so important when it comes to taking a good photo – so places that have dim lighting might need you to bring a bit of your own.
Wear Clothes That You Love Being In
When it comes to feeling confident in your pictures, you’ll want to help yourself in whatever way you can. Wearing clothing that you think you look cute in – even if you can’t really see it in pictures – will help boost your confidence and help your selfie come out much nicer. If you feel more confident with make-up, and regularly wear make-up, it’s perfectly fine to wear make-up as well in your pictures. However you feel most comfortable and confident is how you should project yourself, as you will just look more radiant then normal that way!
Be in an Environment You Enjoy
Sometimes, there is pressure to get a bunch of pictures from different places you have been too or bougie places you might have been to once. Often, these pictures don’t really represent ourselves or where we like to go. You’ll actually fine you look more confrontable and confident in places that you actually like going to and being at regularly. These photos will also tell more about you – I love going out to restaurants and, as such, get a lot of photos of me taking at places I am eating at. These are great to include as they show somewhere I like being and myself happy at a place I am in.
Be Yourself
Once you have your main, first image that will appear on your profile – take some more images that just showcase you! If you love tea, like me, take a picture of yourself with your favorite cup of tea. If you enjoy being with your pet cat, take a picture with your pet cat. If you are a bit goofy and don’t mind making a fool of yourself, add an image that reflects that. Individuals will judge you on your appearance, but there is a lot they can also learn about you from a picture. Everyone is beautiful in their own ways, and often having items that describe you or relate to you can help bring up a conversation with others who share some of the same interests or passions – it’s just a great starting point. Once you have some pictures, it never hurts to send them to a friend for a second opinion if you’re not feeling too hot about them!
