Terra Kids Connectors – Construction Set Figures

[Ad – Gifted Products] The weather has been fantastic, there has been very little rain, so it’s time to check out some toys that encourage outdoor play without their phones! The Terra Kids Connectors – Construction Set Figures is a fantastic mix of plastic pieces, corks and thin wooden rods, along with a tool to make holes in your sticks to create your creatures. Robin started off by taking a little walk around our local pond, picking up all sorts of thick sticks along the way. She gathered up so many options – which turns out was very good – as having options always does help.

Once she had all of the sticks that she very much wanted, we pickled a nearby bench and spread out our haul before opening up the Terra Kids Connectors – Construction Set Figures. I do think that bringing a little knife for smoothing off the ends of the sticks would very much help with this sort of craft! Inside the booklet that comes with the kit, there are a variety of different figures that you can create. Some of them require a saw or a knife, to cut down these types of sticks so that they can be more polished looking.

We didn’t have additional tools, but found it easy enough to use the Terra Kids Connectors – Construction Set Figures to create some figures out of the sticks we found! This is a sort of trial and error activity, as sometimes the sticks themselves split or aren’t quite the right shape. Robin didn’t find it to be frustrating in anyway and instead found it fun figuring out what sticks were perfect for her creature, who she named Bob Stick, and what sticks actually didn’t make a lot of sense for it. The screw tool was actually very easy to use, though it was a little sharp, and Robin was able to carve holes in that fit perfectly with the connectors.

The little plastic pieces worked very well at connecting different sticks together. Having the corks also very much helped for bits of the body that needed lots of pieces attached to it. There are plenty of pieces in this kit, allowing for customisation with decoration pieces, connectors, and even big eye-type pieces that can be added to bring it to life. Robin said that this kit very much felt ideal for holidays, like when we go to Woolacombe Bay, and spend a lot of time in the forest.

Finding Bob Stick near a pond is a great way to spend a dry afternoon without any screens. That screw tool for making holes in the wood makes building these little creatures much more fun for everyone.

This looks like such a fun and creative set for kids. I like anything that gets them building and using their imagination rather than just sitting on a screen.

Bob Stick is adorable! I love the idea of a toy that connects toys with the outdoors instead of replaces it. Such a fun way to spend an afternoon!
