The Sims YaGoBuGi Card Game – Silly Voices!

[Ad – Gifted Products] I am a big fan of The Sims and have been for quite some time! If you are a fan of any of The Sims games, you’ll know that the characters in the game don’t speak English and instead speak Simlish. It’s just a part of the game and culture around the game. The Sims YaGoBuGi Card Game is a silly take on the language, having you use cards to create non-sense words that sound like they are out of The Sims.

The Sims YaGoBuGi Card Game felt similar to Birdy Call, but instead of the birds making the strange noises, you were trying to create the same noise as another player at the table. Essentially, everyone starts with their own face down deck of cards. This entire deck is made of four individual cards; Ya Go Bu and Gi. These cards are sounds, if you read them, and can be placed with one, two, three or four other cards to form a Simlish word. Once you have decided on your word, you need to start saying it over and over at the table.

Everyone plays this game at the same time, shouting and making noises over each other. At any point, players can pass cards from their hand to the bottom of the pile, then draw more so that they are more likely to make a match. Players also get to decide how long their words are, with words that are longer getting more points. If you hear the same word that you are saying, you and the other players need to lock eyes and say it again to confirm, before putting down the pile of cards. From there, you will grab a Simoleons token depending on the length of the word.

The game ends when everyone no longer can make matches, then you just count up the Simoleons to decide who the winner is. The Sims YaGoBuGi Card Game is one that Robin, surprisingly, found extremely funny. She wanted to play this game endlessly! I think it’s the combination of the chaos factor and the funny words. Amelia, who has seen more of The Sims then Robin, also very much enjoyed the game. She more quickly understood what people were saying and how to change her hand to match others, which was soon dominating us in earning Simoleons. I do like the box design as well, which has different boxes for each of the coins. It’s just all so well done.
