I went to King’s Lynn for a work event, and as we were there for an entire day, we decided to go to The Woodland Kitchen and Bar for a large, early dinner before my talk. This is actually a restaurant that’s on-site for a holiday location, but we didn’t know that when we checked Google Maps to see nearby places that Google thought I would like. Dann and I always order too much, but we especially do when everything starts coming out looking and feeling so delicious. Our experience at The Woodland Kitchen and Bar was fantastic and we did, in fact, order too much!
Baba Ghanoush, Hummus Kavurma and Sujuk

There are some things that we always order at Greek restaurants. One of them is baba ghanoush. Dann absolutely loves aubergine and this had a fantastic smoky flavor, along with very rich creamyness. It was fantastic and came with a big bowl of bread that we used to soak up a lot of our food in the end! I got the hummus kavurma, which is hummus topped with cubes of spiced lamb. I do really like the taste of these types of dishes; so much flavor in the spices and in the creamy hummus. I dipped a bunch of the bread into this (though it would normally come with bread as well). We also got sujuk, which is a type of Turkish beef sausage, and it came with a salad that was beautifully dressed as well. All of these were super delicious and we were pumped!
Mixed Olives and Bread

I feel like I must include a picture of the bread we had as well, which was fluffy and warm when it hit the table. We also grabbed some olives, which were well marinated, and there was clearly three different types of olives – it was so much fun!
Char-Grilled Kofte and The Lamb Shank

Dann and I went for a sort of lamb theme for our actual mains! I got char-grilled kofte, which had some fantastic grill marks on it. This is a lamb patty, which has tons of spices and some vegetables mixed in as well. I really loved the flavor on this – it was just so well seasoned. It came with rice and a side salad that wasn’t as well dressed as the one that came with our starters, but was good to cut through how meaty the main was. I really enjoyed it all, the rice was well cooked too. Dann got a massive lamb shank, which was fall of the bone tender. It came in some gravy, with a bunch of vegetables and potatoes, which was very filling! We both were pretty stuffed by the end of our mains.
Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri and Frozen Passionfruit Daiquiri

I got a couple of drinks to go with my meal at The Woodland Restaurant and Bar, while Dann opted for soda. I got the frozen strawberry daiquiri to start, which came out looking stunning! It was sweet, with tons of little toppings, and a great amount of drink too! I then wanted to try the frozen passionfruit daiquiri, which was also fantastic to try! Both had a bit of powdered sugar across the whole thing, which really brought it up to the next level.
We really had a fantastic time at The Woodland Restaurant and Bar, and would go back (even if not staying for a holiday!) as the food was so good. The staff let us sit in a really romantic love seat area, which was super fun, and everything tasted even better than we could have expected. During the summertime, there is clearly some outdoor seating that looks fun, and this was right by a petting zoo area, which we walked around in afterwards – a very cute experience.

This place looks amazing! The food looks absolutely delicious. I’ve not had greek food for a while but this is right up my street!
