Pancake and Pesto do love trying out new cat foods. They aren’t cats who you have to slowly incorporate new food into their diet – they love the idea of trying something new, which reflects in what they do try to eat! So, when we heard about Untamed Cat food, I was excited to grab a trial box for them to try out! We feed them mainly dry food, with one can (or bag) of wet food daily, that they do devour.
Untamed Cat Food boasts being made with no vegetable proteins, no grains, no sugar, just meat! Human-grade whole meats, that are steamed to be exact. I did not go as far as to eat the cat food myself, but the cats really liked it. We got a variety box of primarily chicken and fish flavors, and the tins were seriously impressive. I’ve often got shrimp-included food for the cats before, but I have never been able to see the shrimp inside the jar. As someone who has cooked with chicken before, seeing Untamed and breaking up the tin of food, I could tell it was chicken, real chicken stripped up, inside the can. I feel like this made all the difference, as Pancake and Pesto really grew to like this food, far more than the wet food we previously were having!
I was very impressed I could tell what was in these tins. Untamed promises that there are no animal derivatives, which are low quality parks of animals – we are talking hooves and beaks – but with the ability to see exactly what you are getting, it does look like they are sticking to their world. It may sound weird, but these tins seemed to also fill up the cats faster then previous wet food we had, and keep them full for longer. They didn’t snack on dry food as quickly after finishing their wet food, and it seemed like they were content for a longer amount of time, before leading us back to their bowls.
Overall, I am really impressed with Untamed. They seem to be keeping well true to their promise to keep human-grade meats in their food. At double the amount of protein of regular cat food, it is great to have this brand introduced to our home. With the fact that it can be mailed to your door, with next day delivery, it’s super convenient too!

When our kittens are a bit bigger I want to try different things like this to see what they enjoy and what is good for them. There’s a slightly more limited choice for kittens x
