Untamed Cat Food – Real meat for growing cats!

[Ad- gifted product] Now, we did try out Untamed Cat Food a few years back, as they were offering out trial packs to get your cats use to their tastes and see if they were any good. At the time, we had two cats, and now have a third cat that has not tried Untamed properly. We then tried Untamed again in 2025, where our cats very much enjoyed quite a few of the flavors. Now, in 2026, they’ve rebranded and added in tons of new flavors, so we had to try these out as well! One of our cats primarily likes fish-related food the best, where as the others aren’t so picky.

Untamed Cat Food talks about having fresher, easier to digest ingredients that can promote better fur, less hairballs, and generally help your cat’s health. They also have a big focus on ancestral pray within their cat food. Their food is meant to have less plant filler, less sugars, and less animal “derivatives” by a large part, which are always good to see. Instead, it’s meat for your cats! They sent over a bunch of three different kids; meat in broth, smooth pate, and meat in gravy. Pesto is a big gravy lover, where as the other two cats don’t have a preference as long as they are having their wet food, but it was interesting to see the difference between these types of food.

The gravy version had lots of little bits, inside a bunch of gravy, the broth was even thinner in liquid with shreaded meat in it (if it’s chicken) and other littler chunks too – and the pate is a consistent texture, that we break up for them. The broth was a clear favorite of our cats, as it was full of rich flavor by the looks of things, and became the thing they tried to slurp up before chowing down. None of the foods from Untamed have large chunks of food in them, which is perfect for our cat Pesto as he struggles slightly to chew.

Untamed’s flavor range contains a few different combinations. We tried cat food in gravy: Shrimp topped tuna (a favorite of Pancake), wild tuna with salmon and ocean topped fish. In the finest collection which is broth-based, we have chicken breast with smoked tuna and chicken breast with red tuna. In the pate set, we tried wild tuna smoked pate, which Popcorn very much enjoyed. Pesto had a good time eating both the broths and gravy! As our cats very much like fish, we are happy to see so many fish options for them.

Our cats clearly enjoyed Untamed. If you are looking for a cat food that promises to have more meat within it, which is something that cats really do need, then Untamed is well worth looking into. They’ve got trial boxes, at very affordable prices, which makes this cat food easy to test out for your little furry friends.

My cat is older now and getting more and more picky. She does like a mix of wet food and biscuits. I will have to try and get her some Untamed and see how she does with it.

I would so love to try this for my cat Shadow 🙂 He loves his food and actually is now in remission for Diabetes which is a beautiful thing but he is on a strict diet that is prescription. I so would love to give these a try and love that they are all meat!

I’ve been looking for healthier options for my cats, so I’d really love to try this. Glad to know they use less plant fillers and sugar, and that they offer trial boxes too.

We’d definitely love to give this a try, and hopefully my furballs approve of it!
