UpRoar! a card game of silly sounds

UpRoar!

[Ad- gifted product] If you have ever played Dobble before, you probably know how to play UpRoar! UpRoar! is a very simple to learn and then play card game, that’s great for all ages. It’s as simple as flipping over two cards and then having a big look at them! You can split into teams or just play as a bunch of individuals. We tried it out both ways and preferred all playing as individuals – but with younger players you might want to team up.

Once both of the cards are flipped over, you will find yourself looking for the word or phrase they have in common. Each card has a bunch of words on them, in different colors or in written in different ways, making a big bundle of words that are all placed around each other. You will need to move around and get a good view of the card if you are to find the matching words quickly! When you spot which words or phrases match, you need to do what they say. Phrases like National Anthem or Sad Ghost end up with silly noises being made.

And that’s basically it! If you are first to make a silly voice, you will then get the cards which count as points. We found ourselves a little less focused on points and instead trying to guess what sound the person who made the sound found. Robin and Amelia were very good at these silly sounds, where as Dann and I were over thinking them, I think, until we got into the game and started flowing. There are so many different phrases and noises you will end up making – superhero, baby goat, and guitar solo were some other highlights, just to name a few. If you do find both cards have UpRoar! you just need to shout the game name and then get those cards.

UpRoar! is a very small, compact game that you could easily bring on holiday or take with you in the car. It’s such a simple card game to pick up and play that you could find this to be your next family favorite. We all enjoyed it, even Kai who doesn’t love card or board games particularly well, but did enjoy how silly and strange this game was.

It sounds like it would be pretty good fun, I think my kids would love it. I am not too sure how good I would be at making the silly noises myself. But nice to have something compact that you could take out.
