Wicked Kitchen Orange Pumpkin Pesto | Review

I love trying new pumpkin items when it comes to Autumn! When I saw Wicked Kitchen had an Orange Pumpkin Pesto, I wanted to try out some of it and see how it went! To make things double spooky, I grabbed some spinach linguine to cook up with it. We do eat a lot of pesto in our home, mainly classic, green (made with basil and spinach), pesto on top of pasta. Having a jarred pesto can be a bit hit and miss, so we had our fingers crossed.

This pesto is made of pumpkin, peppers, cashew nuts, lemon and curry. It did smell so much of curry, but the taste itself was much sweeter than expected from the smell. The taste of the pesto is slightly spiced, but mainly just a punch of pumpkin, with a touch of sweetness. It was easy to spoon out some of the pesto onto warm pasta, and the texture was wonderful on the pasta. It’s diffidently something that we would try again! We were able to get two good-sized lunches out of the jar, covering the pasta well. You could add chicken to the pasta and I am sure it would have still worked.

Pumpkin flavored food is always fun to experiment with – and is often a rarity in this country, so it’s great to see more of it. I love trying out new products, and I had not actually had a pesto with cashews before, but the texture was so nice for it. Wicked Kitchen does quite a few sauce products and pesto, so it’s always worth a look.

Have you tried any new pumpkin-flavored foods lately?

This post is apart of our Blogtober series, all with a Halloween or Autumn theme.
