Dann and Kai are big fans of exploring castle! Last year, we had gone on a bunch of English Heritage sites, but we had not yet explored Rochester Castle. This castle wasn’t like any of the others we had been too. It wasn’t ruins or something recreated – it was a castle that felt very complete, with lots to explore, yet clearly wasn’t re-created in anyway. Rochester Castle is actually on a large lot of land, which you can see lots of dog walkers and other people exploring. These grounds do have some ruins on them, as well as signs and informations.

So, this year we were prepared and we were able to get the whole family along for the fun trail!
A Day Out at Audley End House Easter Trail
Audley End House and Garden is a huge manor, full of beautiful garden life, a large walk around, and a few historical sites. There is the main house, which currently isn’t open, however there is plenty to see around the gardens and grounds themselves. On this occasion, we actually went along for the Easter Trail – which can be booked ahead of time. This trail is completely outdoors, and includes finding fact signs about the grounds itself, filling in a pamphlet that you can get on the grounds or print from home.

A Day Out in London Bridge
*AD /Sponsored– see footnote
I’ve lived in London for a few years, but haven’t actually ever gone to a specific area to spend time and explore! Dann and I went out to the London Bridge area, with a budget in our pockets, looking to do whatever we stumbled upon. It was a long day out, and we ended up doing a mix of tourism and finding smaller gems that are within the area. If you want to do a day out in the London Bridge area, but unlike us, don’t live nearby, there are loads of hotels near the Shard to pick from.
