[Ad- gifted experience] Robin and I went along to the Grinchmas Bus to check out The Grinch: Christmas Adventures, the video game, in style. The Grinchmas Bus Afternoon Tea experience is one that is ideal for those who love The Grinch or video games, and want to do something quite unique this holiday season! Though the Grinch himself isn’t onboard, this is an experiencer that really highlights the magic of the season.
We boarded our bus from the Victoria Coach Station, getting a table for two, which was all set up with snacks and sandwiches when we got on. The performer in charge of our journey was dressed up like someone straight out of Whoville, with How the Grinch Stole Christmas tucked under his arm. He had a lot of jokes, references to the book, and was ready to take us on this magical adventure.
Stepping out to the bus, the outside was decorated with Grinchmas and the Grinch’s face. There were tons of lights and decorations in side, along with plenty of seating. Our seats were complete with the Nintendo Switch booted up on the game, a blanket to keep us warm, Christmas Crackers and of course, all of our treats. The treats were on a two tier afternoon tea set, with four desserts on the top and a bunch of savoury treats on the bottom. I really enjoyed the ham and cheese sandwich which was on a tomato bread and the quiche from the bottom. Robin loved the sweets (and primarily ate those) but liked the salmon sandwich on the bottom. She dived into the sweet treats, loving the look of the Grinch Heart cookie, but her favorite was a little tart with marshmallow on top and chocolate cherry inside a little shell on the bottom. If you don’t end up eating it all, they do box up everything you don’t eat at the end.
There is unlimited hot and cold drinks on the journey, and it’s served in Grinchmas themed coffee cups that are reusable. Everyone gets the chance to bring these home through answering a bunch of Grinch trivia. We got the answer correct to Where the Grinch Lives and What the Grinch Wears when Stealing presents. The performer does a great job of talking about the Grinch, mentioning a bunch of the different ites we are going around as we go through London, and making up stories that felt in the Grinch theme. He also gave us all Who-related names! It was a really fun time. At the end, there was even a Who sing-a-long. They also gave us a little goodie-bag to take with us on our way home!
While we road around, we were able to play a bunch of The Grinch: Christmas Adventures on Nintendo Switch, which is two player, so we each grabbed a controller, set it up, and enjoyed playing. There really does feel like a good amount of time to play the game, eat some snacks, and just enjoy being with another person. Robin really enjoyed the experience, and I feel that she is the perfect age for it too! The mix of a video game, eating snacks and treats, and enjoying a themed experience is just perfect for her age group and made some magical, core memories together.
You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
This is so amazing! Your family finds the best holiday gems to enjoy, and this one is the best thus far!
The themed decorations on the bus, the delicious treats, and the engaging performer truly made it a magical experience for you and Robin.
Sounds like a fantastic experience to me and I truly believe that you had a lot of fun. Love your energetic writing style as well!
The Afternoon Tea experience adds a unique and festive touch, making it a perfect treat for fans of The Grinch and video games alike. Even without the Grinch onboard, the magical holiday spirit shines through. What a fun and unique way to celebrate the season!
