Maqio Toys Backpack & Other Back to School items | Review

[Ad- gifted products] As it is nearly time for the children to go back to school, it’s time to grab up a few backpacks, purchase some lunch boxes and get together all of the different lunch box accessories they need. Maqio Toys provided some backpacks for the kids, as they have a selection on their site, while the lunch boxes and other items were purchased. You see, in schools in the United Kingdom, you do not need to provide much for your children. They do not need notebooks, pencils, pencil cases, glue – just a backpack and a lunch box will suffice at their age.

I have no idea why the eldest led all three kids to the back wall, to take a photo, but he did.

A Day at the Beach: Walton-on-the-Naze

When Jupiter first moved to England, she lived by the sea side. Each day, she could hear the waves from her window and almost taste the salt in the air. She loves the ocean, the soft sand and the feel of the beach. As it is summertime, and Walton-on-the-Naze is so close, we just had to have a day out to the beach.

The children were pretty excited about a beach day, so we packed a picnic lunch and set off in the morning to get to the beach! The drive there wasn’t too long, but when we arrived everyone was ready to eat some food before taking on the large jungle gym that we parked by.

Homemade Cereal Bars | Recipe

I really enjoy making various snacks for people. When the kids are here, snacks are needed anyway, so coming up with new snacks is always fun! Cereal bars was this weeks snack as they are healthy and easy to make. They don’t take any baking, it’s just warming a few ingredients and getting everything all mixed up!

A Day at Ashlyn’s Farm and Soft Play

Summer holiday means lots of days in the sun to fill with fun activities! With one tiny three year old and two taller seven and nine year olds, finding activities for everyone to enjoy can be a bit of a challenge. We tend to end up doing the same old, same old – but have been making an effort to try new places. After some googling, Ashlyn’s Farm and Softplay came up. At this farm, there is really just so much for everyone to do.

Ashlyn’s Farm is almost like a small area of shops on the outside; a restaurant, butchers, and small store all packed into one, another building which sells locally made wine, and a third where you can get your hair or nails done, or get a massage. Once you’ve walked through this buildings, you’ll find the Farm and Soft Play area a bit behind it. The Soft Play and Farm Trail are very reasonably priced, especially as you can easily loose an entire day here. We opted to first see all of the outdoor stuff. The farm trail has tons of animals you can see and feed (for 50p per bag of feed). Goats were a favorite while we visited, but there were also pigs, chickens, sheep, llamas, alpacas, pygmy horses,  and donkeys dotted around. A big reptile and bird building also stands close to the entry, allowing you to take a look at owls, various birds, tiny marmosets, skunks, and a variety of reptiles.
