We often go to Cammas Hall to check out their seasonal fruit, different trails, and fun activities! After a bit of a rainy early morning, we headed off to Cammas Hall for their Strawberry picking. There were tons of strawberries this year, which might be because we went earlier in the season or it might be because we just went earlier in the day. There was also not really any others picking right after the rain, which is always a fun experience as we like to dart between the rows and really explore finding the best strawberries.

Finding strawberries along the plants are extremely easy as these beds are raised to eye height, allowing you to look around. There were plenty of perfectly red strawberries, as well as green ones slowly ripening for more picking, and even a few buds. We are all pretty great at looking over the strawberries to ensure they are completely red and have no bugs before putting them in our little baskets.

It wasn’t long before our baskets were completely full of delicious strawberries, ready to bring home to create jam. Amelia and Robin absolutely love my homemade strawberry jam, which I only make from the strawberries we pick at Cammas Hall. Once we had everything we wanted, we did take a little look at the gooseberries which were all ready to be harvested, before heading into their little farm shop. Depending on the season, Cammas Hall always have some special themed items in their shop. They are running a dino trail, which our children have aged out of, but as a result there is a lot of dinosaur items dotted about! They have some jams, fruit-themed items, and of course lots of summer items covered in cute little strawberries.

Robin picked up a slice of chocolate cake from the bakery, Kai grabbed his favorite locally pressed apple juice from the fridge, and I grabbed the jam sugar that I always get for the jam. We made a little impulse decision to grab some fresh focaccia bread, as they smelled delicious with their whole cloves of garlic and herbs, and it fit in really well with what we were having for dinner that evening. During the afternoon, Cammas Hall also has a little ice cream stand, a BBQ and pizza stall, and a beer garden – it’s a fantastic place for a little day out.
You can check out our other Days Out to see what else we’ve been up too!
I have not been strawberry picking in years, we do get a lot from our garden which is great. This was always something I loved to do as a child and my kids enjoyed as well
We’re going for strawberry picking on Sunday and I can’t can’t wait. We go to a local farm every year, such a fun thing to do with the family.
I love u-pick farms like this. We go pick berries every summer. Cammas Hall looks like so much fun!
First of all, family outings like this are always so much fun! Second, those are some gorgeous-looking strawberries. What a cool farm!
Cammas Hall sounds like a ton of fun for the family. I love that they have special events in addition to the berry picking.
