Dinner out at The Cock Helsinki

[Ad- gifted experience] While in Helsinki for a work event, we went out to a celebratory dinner to celebrate the end of a fantastic event and a promotion I got within the company! Picking something that sounded and felt like it could be British, we ended up at The Cock. This restaurant is very welcome to people just visiting the area and serves a fun menu with a lot of familiar and classic food. Dann and I both got different starters and mains, for once, off of a set menu that the entire team ordered from. The venue felt cozy, like an upscale pub, and the staff were fantastic.

Playing with cats at Katzentempel

Dann and I go to Germany each and every year, specifically to Cologne, for Gamescom as apart of our day jobs. We’ve basically done everything we could possibly go or so we thought! This year, Dann surprised me by finding a new place; Katzentempel Koln, which is a vegan cat cafe, right in Cologne. I absolutely love cat cafes and have been to a few in London. You do not need to pre-book, so we went along in the afternoon during one of the days we were there.

The Christmas Character Cupcake Class was one of four winter / Christmas themed classes that Jennie was running. As always, the cupcakes were pre-baked, the fondant was already colored, and we all sat down to enjoy a few hours of creating decorations.

The secret to crafting a perfect burger lies not just in the recipe or cooking technique but in the very foundation: the beef itself. Ground beef comes in many forms, grades, and blends, each impacting the flavor, texture, and quality of your burger. Whether you’re a backyard grilling enthusiast or a culinary perfectionist, understanding how to choose the right ground beef is critical. In this article, we’ll break down the essentials to help you elevate your burger-making game.

Understanding Beef Fat Content: The Heart of a Great Burger

Fat content is arguably the most important factor when selecting ground beef for burgers. It influences everything from flavor to juiciness to how well the patty holds together. For a classic burger, ground beef with a fat-to-lean ratio of 80/20 (80% lean meat and 20% fat) is widely recommended. This ratio strikes the perfect balance between flavor and structure, ensuring that the burger remains moist and flavorful without becoming greasy.
