Touring Redchurch Brewery in Harlow

Dann and I have been looking to do more local events in our town and came across the Redchurch Brewery, which offer monthly beer tasting and tours! Dann was very excited to try out new beers and had no idea that they did tours, so we eagerly waited for the date to come up. The Redchurch Brewery is a small local, brewery that brews a bunch of beers in massive vats. We got the chance to sample five different beers, all of which were made there.

The afternoon at Redchurch Brewery started off with a beer of course – their premium in-house beer. Everybody was given a half-pint of the ‘Redchurch premium lager’ while we were talked through the different parts of the tour. The tour kicked off with an explaination of the brewing process and what goes into making different beers and alcoholic drinks, as well as a history of the brewery itself and how it has changed owners over the years. We all got the chance to smell a selection of different hops and ingredients, and there was some really interesting charts that showed how different ingredients create different types of beer.

Science Snippets The Human Body provides casual learning through flash cards

[Ad- gifted product] Now that back-to-school is in full swing, we often want to support the children’s learning with things at home. Amelia has a drumming kit that goes along with her schooling, Robin has some multiplication apps and songs, as she was struggling with them, Kai has an entire account for his GCSE practice that we got for him over the summer (though not as fun as the other two). Sometimes, having toys around the house that aren’t directly related to their currently learning will inspire them to learn more casually. Science Snippets The Human Body is a bundle of flash cards that answer how, what and why questions directly to do with the human body.

Bird Experience at Coda Falconry in Hobbledown Heath

[Ad- gifted experience] We have actually attended Coda Falconry‘s previous location, for an owl walk, during lockdown – but they have since moved to Hobledown Heath, a sort of outdoor adventure park that we also went to, before they moved there! Now that Coda Falconry is on the premises, they put on a bunch of free to view bird shows and have various, bookable experiences (including the owl walk), that also give you access to the rest of Hobbledown Heath too! We got the chance to do a 1-hour bird experience with Coda Falconry, which allowed our family of five to hang out with three different birds, casting them off and having them fly to us.

Trying Different Foods at Shelter Hall

Food halls are a really fun way to try a bunch of different food or to eat a bunch of food with different people. When we are in Brighton for our yearly work trip, there is often an event at Shelter Hall, which has everyone meeting up, taking over the hall, and ordering some tasty food. Shelter Hall is a food hall full of different eateries, with tables in the middle. It’s a bit of a share the area experience as the tables are long and everyone sits together. Food is brought over to your table from the different venues, so you need to keep an ear out, but there is so much variety! Everything is ordered through an app and paid through the app, so you don’t need to get up or look at different menus.

EUGY 3D Puzzles – Creating 3D Animals and Dinosaurs

[Ad- gifted product] We have previously, though many years ago, tried out the EUGY 3D Puzzle for Meerkats, but Robin was much younger and not into puzzles, so it was something Amelia put together. When we were gifted two of the EUGY 3D Puzzles, Robin was excited for her chance to build them and have the little models in her own room. These 3D puzzles are very easy to set up and put together, offering a fantastic rainy day activity, which is often needed in the autumn time. EUGY 3D Puzzles have a large number of animals, dinosaurs, mythical creatures and sea life for you to put together, all following the same sort of format. Each one has their own number as well, which encourages collecting them all!
