All You Can Eat at GAJA Korean BBQ

When looking for fun places to eat in Amsterdam, our tour guide on a canal tour recommended two places, one of which being GAJA Korean BBQ. At the time, we did not know it was an all you can eat BBQ joint, but were very excited to discover this! You can either order off the standard menu or you can choose the all you can eat option, which does only allow one dessert per person and doesn’t include drinks. That’s what we ended up going with. There is a two hour eating limit and everything is ordered through scanning a QR code, where you can also allow others from your table to join the order, and you can see who orders what. If you aren’t familiar with Korean BBQ, you are able to cook everything in front of yourselves.

Panic Room Harlow – Return to the Tomb

This year is the year of Escape Rooms, as each year our children pick something that they want to explore more of. As with most things that start at the start of the year, we have gone all in using the winter days to explore new escape rooms. Previously, we have done the Sherlock Holmes Room at Panic Room Harlow, but we do want to try out their other rooms this year, so went with the Return to the Tomb.

The Return to the Tomb had been re-done, but we didn’t see the last version, so aren’t sure how different it is! At first, we were warned that there would be crawling and some darkness, before our host switched into acting mode and told us all about our exciting adventure. His friend had sent some information to him about a lost tomb, but he is unable to go check it out and his friend has been seemingly missing. We are being sent in to see if we can solve the mysteries of the tomb and find his friend – or at least make it out alive. The escape room does look extremely small at first, and you are given some knee and elbow pads if you want them, before being shut into a room that we all barely fit into.

Triyit Box – Cat Food and Drinks

[Ad- gifted product] We’ve done a few Triyit Boxes in the past, as they are such a fun way to try out some samples (in exchange for filling out a survey)! When we qualified for this box, we were pretty excited, as we weren’t sure at all what was coming. It turns out, there should have been one other item, but it was missing! This was something we only discovered when filling in the survey, as it asked for information about an item we didn’t have, so that was a bit of a surprise.

Seeing Historical Ships at Museumhaven Amsterdam

While exploring around the NEMO Museum in Amsterdam, if you walk towards the back like Dann and I did, you will come across a bunch of different historical ships. This is actually Museumhaven Amsterdam – which is a museum harbor of the Amsterdam Museum Harbor Association. There are over 20 historical vessels there, covering a bunch of different boat types, all moored for people to have a look at.

Birdy Call – A Loud Bird Calling Card Game

[Ad – Gifted Products] Every other Monday, Dann, Amelia, Robin and I get together to play a board game and have some shakes at our local Geek Retreat. I’ve never before been slightly conscious of our board games, until Birdy Call. This is a card game where you will be making some noise, literally, in the form of bird calls! It’s silly, it’s interesting, and it’s quite whacky. I can see it being extremely fun after a couple of drinks with an older crowd too.
