We did not travel so much in July, which was a needed break. July always brings lots of wrap-up from school and Dann and I host an event in Brighton each year too. There was so much lovely weather, so many new activities, and lots of fun to be had. I got a tattoo too! It’s been a good month, with so much to look back on and so much fun. I post a photo each day as apart of project 365. Some bloggers post daily, some weekly, and some monthly like me. You can check out some other bloggers taking on this challenge at the bottom of this article.

Dinner at Konoba Forno
When going back to our hotel, we kept passing Konoba Forno, which was up a small hill. One evening, in the time after exploring and before an event we were heading too, we wanted to get some food and decided on here. Though many, many people said the meat platters were the thing to have, we wanted to try something that called itself traditional. The food at Konoba Fornzo had English under it, which often stated “traditional Croatia dish” and explained what it was.
Much like everywhere we seemed to eat in Croatia, you could sit in an open-air terrace or inside. We opted for upstairs in the open air, despite it being slightly windy, primarily because the temperature was fantastic. The staff were lovely, explaining the menu to us when we had questions. I picked a dish that was in the hot starters menu, but asked if it was big enough as a main, and they said it was! Now, I cannot find the menu online so I am not completely sure of the name of the dishes.

Guessing the Words in Junior Tension
[Ad- gifted product] We play board games together, every other week, at our local Geek Retreat! This week, we tried out Junior Tension, which is a game all about topics and trying to name the things within that topic. It’s pretty easy for all ages to play and with the Junior version, there are a bunch of topics that are related to younger kids topics, like Thomas the Train Engine and Nursery Rhymes, which makes teams of different ages really important in this game.

Seaside Cupcake Class with Sweet Designs by Jennie
It’s been another month, so Amelia and I excitedly went along to another cupcake class with Sweet Designs by Jennie, this time it was a new design; seaside cupcakes, perfect for the beautiful weather we had been having lately. Sweet Designs by Jennie hand-creates these designs based on what has inspired her, and as it’s seaside weather, she thought about the seaside. This class was primarily done with fondant work, and as usual, it’s on the smaller side with 6 people attending at once. We are regulars here, so we know quite a few of the others who attend, and this class had some great vibes!

Seeing Bats with Essex Bat Group Bat Walk at Parndon Wood Reserve
Now that it is summer, there are so many more events popping up! I actually started a website of things to do in Harlow to help keep track of everything. Parndon Wood Nature Reserve has been known to host a bunch of events throughout the year, but as ECCO no longer looks after the reserve, there seems to be less and less. I was delighted when I heard that Essex Bat Group was hosting a Bat Walk within the reserve, featuring a talk all about bats!
