28-50 Wine Bar & Kitchen Fondue Festival | Review

Both Dann and Jupiter went to a Fondue Festival at the 28-50 Wine Bar & Kitchen, who do yearly Fondue Festivals in London. These take place each Tuesday through February, March and April. We’re not sure if Festival makes a lot of sense in this use, as it’s not really a Festival and more of a sit down dinner but only there for a limited amount of time. Dann really wanted to go, so we both grabbed up some tickets and figured we’d see what happens. Neither of us had been to 28-50 Wine Bar & Kitchen, nor had we had Fondue before, so it was an interesting time.

The first thing worth noting is that you are going to need to go to the Fondue Festival with a friend, as it’s a minimum of two people per fondue. The price is set at £34.95 per person, stacking as you add more people to it. The festival tickets include a set menu – we weren’t even shown a normal menu – which you get to eat from. The venue itself is very upscale, we were quite under dressed, and is a dark and moody place.

Pretty Suds July 2020 Bath Bomb Box | Review

After June’s Alien-themed bath bombs, I was pretty excited for the cute theme of Funky Flowers. But, to be honest, I am always excited for Pretty Suds! Our household loves bath bombs and this mystery box of bath goodies comes each month. All of the bath bombs are really great quality with some amazing color payoff – and they are handmade in Yorkshire, England, which is always a plus. Let’s dive into this month’s collection!

Mermaid Lessons with South Coast Mermaids

[Ad- gifted experience] I love the water! When I was a child, I would spend every moment I could in my nanny’s pool, swimming until the sun went down. This year, if you’ve been checking out my Instagram, you’ll know I’ve been at the beach nearly every week. I am basically a mermaid stuck in a human body, with silly legs that stop me from having fins. When I found out that South Coast Mermaids do lovely mermaid lessons – and who doesn’t want to be a mermaid – so I was very excited to go! South Coast Mermaids do adult and children swimming lessons, as well as parties. This lesson is post COVID, so we were social distancing mermaids, something that our instructor, Anna, kept in mind during the entire lesson. I attended one at the Lido Arundel, which is a lovely setting with a castle peaking over the treeline!

Beer52 – Mixed Beers Subscription | Review

As you are probably aware, there are lots and lots of monthly subscription boxes out there – from monthly cat gift boxes through to make-up and bath-bomb boxes. So, it makes sense that there’s a monthly beer box. Beer52 is my first experience of a beer box like this, and it’s quite an interesting offering; Certainly more than just a crate of random beers.

For a start, the whole thing is designed as a ‘discovery club’ more than a crate ‘o beer, and that’s fair, it feels themed and deliberate, specifically featuring a wider variety of beers than you’d normally find in your local supermarket. It’s also complete with a couple of bar snacks, and there’s also a brilliant magazine all about craft beers, and brewing on the whole. Much like a Nat Geo, New Scientist, or any of the other specialist, serial magazines it’s a perfect little casual read if you want to learn more about the specialist subject that it is built around. It’s also good coffee table decor.

A Day Out at Hitchin Lavender Field

Now that the weather is great and the flowers are blooming, we took a trip to the Hitchin Lavender Field! Neither of us have ever been to a lavender field before, but we wanted to walk in the sea of purple fields and hang out together. It seemed like a great day to spend a lazy afternoon, so we headed off to explore and enjoy the nice sunny weather! We did book ahead, making sure we had tickets and could go on in, and then appeared for our time slot.
