Becoming a Plant Parent with Eddington House Nursery

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to plants, I can’t seem to get enough of them. Maybe it comes with getting older or wanting the finer things in life, but having plants around my house is something that brings joy to me. I love seeing them grow and change – seeing them thrive and continue on pushing forward. I’ve dabbled with quite a few plant subscriptions in the past, though I have found it’s hard to find one that is reliable and can deliver plants to your door – as none of us are able to go out now-a-days.

Letterbox Lab Explore Box, Box 1: Hidden Rainbows

This year we’ve been trying out a lot of different subscription boxes to keep the children entertained while our other options have been somewhat restricted by lockdown and Covid-19. We’ve done everything from nature boxes through to history-themed ones, but perhaps one of the most interesting offerings is the Letterbox Lab Explore Box, which we’ve been tinkering with over the last while.

Much like the Mysteries in Time box, the Letterbox Lab is sequential rather than based on the time of the year. So if you started a subscription today, you’d receive the first box, even if other people you know are much later in the sequence. There are twelve boxes in total as part of the Explore Box, with one delivered a month, and Letterbox Labs also do a much heftier Investigate Box if you have older children, or if you’re still interested in the magic of science once you’ve completed the Explore, 12-box run.

2021 Goals

2020 is nearly over, and as I have done a goals list last year, I felt like maybe I should do one this year! Looking back to January, I had no idea that there was going to be a global pandemic, and that really threw most of my life in a bit of a twist – much like I am sure it did for everyone. Regardless of that, the majority of my goals were actually achieved. I was able to get a new car, we are well on the way to moving to our new house, I did record more video games for Youtube and I was able to do some virtual volunteering and donating of my time. The only thing I don’t feel I achieved was getting a new tattoo – but I didn’t really feel comfortable getting a tattoo during a global pandemic!

A Day Out at Glow Wild Wakehurst 2020

Each year, we make an effort to go to at least one lantern or light themed event. They pop up around the wintertime, showcasing the best versions of lights! This year, things were a little different, but we did end up finding a light event in our tier, with plenty of precautions, that we could go to! That event, as you probably have guessed, is Glow Wild at Wakehurst.

Upon entering Wakehurst, we followed the signs to the start of the walk. There were plenty of staff dotting around reminding people to wear masks, socially distance, and keep moving throughout the walk. Even though Glow Wild is an outdoor event, it’s one that does require masks, which is always nice. At the main start of the walk, there are a few little treat stalls – selling muffins, coffees, and hot chocolates. We didn’t purchase anything here, but joined the line to start the walk! After picking out a lantern to carry with us, we started along the trail.

Beer Hawk Festive Cheers Selection Box | Review

[Ad- gifted product] When it comes to picking out a really good gift for somebody, sometimes it’s really not that easy to find something that’s truly perfect – do you focus in on something they need, do you get something that’s in line with their hobbies, or do you get something that’s a simple treat. This is where selection boxes, and the sort, really come in handy. Jupiter got me, earlier on in the year, the Beer Hawk Selection Box, which is a really great gift for beer lovers, and is also a really nice introduction into the Beer Box idea. When we saw the Beer Hawk Festive Cheers Selection Box on Moonpig, we ordered one!

I’ve not used Beer Hawk before, but it’s a website which – alongside making gift packages – sells everything from beer glasses through to full kegs of beer. This gift box, with its festive design, was clearly designed as a quick Christmas treat, and alongside the five beers that it contained also included a beer glass and a set of chocolate tokens. While I’ll get to the beers in a moment, I wanted to take a quick moment to point out how well organised the whole thing was. Inside the Beer Hawk Festive Cheers Selection Box, there were marked partitions for each of the seven things included, with rigid walling to separate them. It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into the packaging design, which is nice to see when talking about a company who ships glass and bottles as well as cans and more.
