Walking an Owl with Coda Falconry

About a year ago, it was Dann’s birthday! Unsure what to get someone who never knows what they want for their birthday, I figured getting an experience was the best option. Dann loves owls and always mentioned a time when his brother got to go off and do a owl experience with his grandparents and how he wanted to do similar. So, after a bit of googling, I ended up booking him a ticket for the Owl Encounter at Coda Falconry – along with a spectator ticket, in case he wanted to bring a friend.

I ended up being that friend! Currently, Coda Falconry isn’t properly open due to COVID, but they still are doing these experiences, as they are with small groups of people. Ours was an own walk, where Dann got to hold the owl, cast him off, and walk around. I got to follow and pet the owl at the end, opting to take pictures and ask questions along the way. Our owl was named Dusk – a beautiful creature with a twin sister who we also got to meet!

The Perfect Apple Pie Filling | Recipe

When the leaves start changing color, I start to think about all of the different ways to enjoy apples. I use to work at an apple orchard and bring home lots of apples for apple pie or apple crisp. This filling is the best apple pie filling I’ve ever had and reminds me of home. It’s a recipe that’s been past down, that’s very simple to make – and most of the ingredients can be found in your home normally. This apple pie filling recipe is also very easy to follow.

Blogtober Tag 2020 – Our First Blogtober

We’ve never participated in Blogtober before, but we figured now was a good time to start! Each day, we will be releasing a Blogtober post – which will be themed as Autumn or Halloween content. We will also have some posts going live on other topics that aren’t themed, but these won’t be marked as Blogtober content. As we normally post three times a week, posting every day and doubling up on some days seemed like the best way to make Blogtober work for our blog. As we love Halloween and fall, getting a bunch of lovely, themed posts seemd like a fun time. To start off our first Blogtober, we are doing out first ever Blogger Tag!

What’s your favourite fall scent?

Jupiter: My favorite fall scent is baking pumpkin pie. I love the smell out of the oven and how much it fills your home.
Dann: My favourite autumn scent is burning firewood, as it reminds me of bonfire night.

Vietnamese Street Food Feast Cooking Lesson with Larks Live | Review

[Ad- gifted experience] In a time when we can’t really go out all that much, cooking at home has become a large part of people’s lives. I have always done a lot of home cooking, though I had not previously taken a cooking class. Larks Live has created a bunch of online cooking classes, all ran by different chefs, which can teach you how to make dishes in the comfort of your own home, live, on Zoom! Dann and I went for the Vietnamese Street Food Feast by chef Jazzi Curley, who has just opened up her own physical cookery in the Devon area! We invited our friend Claire over to enjoy the dinner with us and watch us cook too.
