The Mother’s Day Prize Bundle Giveaway

When Mother’s Day comes around, it’s no secret that I don’t have a mother that I celebrate the day with. I am not a mother and do not feel the need to contact my estranged family, but that doesn’t mean that I do not recognize the meaning of the day or think that mothers who have done an amazing job of caring for their children should be celebrated. With that in mind, I jumped at the opportunity to team up with some fantastic bloggers to bring some prizes for Mother’s Day, so that a lucky person could pamper themselves with a big gift!

This Mother’s Day some of the top UK bloggers have united to offer one lucky winner a fabulous bundle of goodies for Mother’s Day worth in total £200. What’s more, we also have a Mother’s Day hamper for a runners up prize.

Leek and Corn Fritters (Lucy Parker) | Recipe

[Ad- gifted products] March 1st is Saint David’s day – a day celebrating the patron saint of Wales. This is a national festival where Saint David was recognized as a national patron saint at a peak time of Welsh resistance to the Normans. Some traditional festivities see people wearing daffodils and leeks, as well as recognizing symbols of Wales and Saint David respectively. Eating traditional Welsh food like cawl and Welsh rarebit and wearing traditional Welsh dress. More and more cities are putting on parades to celebrate the day.

Though we are not Welsh, we both quite like cerebrating traditions and learning more about other cultures, so when The British Leeks Growers’ Association reached out with some information on the event and a few beautiful recipes, we felt it would be perfect to fit into One Recipe a Week, where we take a look at a new recipe each and every week to share it with you. There were a bunch of recipes to choose from, all by Lucy Parker. We chose the Tangy leek and corn fritters with lime mayo.

Brunch at The King’s Head | Review

[Ad- gifted experience] The King’s Head in Billericay, Essex have refurbished the interior and exterior, as well as extended their menu to include a very lovely brunch menu! The interior is stunning – beautifully presented tables, couches, a well-presented bar. All of the bar staff seemed really knowledgeable about the menu – and we were told after that they actually had a large menu tasting when it came to this brunch, so that they knew everything on this new menu. The look is pretty modern now, with a bright feel that you don’t often find inside pubs. The King’s Head felt modern and casual, and the dining experience was wonderful as well.

Pancake Day Charcuterie Board

[Ad- gifted product] Pancake Day is a strange holiday in the United Kingdom, for it everyone seems to eat Pancakes for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This day is meant to be Shrove Tuesday, which is preceding Ash Wednesday, but no one I know seems to talk about the religious routes and instead shares great pictures of the pancakes they’ve made. We wanted to do something a little different, so we jumped on the Instagram trend of Pancake Boards or Pancake Charcuterie boards.

[Ad- gifted products] Our household is always on the lookout for toys, especially toy kits and items that will keep the three kids entertained. With the half term coming up, PoundToy reaching out with their very affordable toys seemed like a really good fit. Pound Toy is an online retailer that sells loads and loads of children’s toys at extremely affordable prices. They have some name brands, but mainly loads of cheaper off-brands that work pretty well.
