A Day Out at Horrible Histories Christmas Car Panto

As previously mentioned, Kai really enjoys Horrible Histories. After he read his Horrible Histories Horrible Christmas book, we heard about the Horrible Histories Christmas Car Panto, which seemed like a really fun event. We have not been to a drive in before, and I have not been to a panto as those aren’t something we have in America, but I was super excited to figure out how both would work!

MEL Science – Polarized Light | Review

[Ad- gifted product] It’s been a while since we wrote about the last science kit that we did, the Luminescence kit from MEL. This time we sat down with the MEL Science Polarized Light kit, another box from their MEL Science Physics range, a range that’s designed for a slightly older audience than a lot of the kits out there. As I said previously, the range is really professionally made, with a clean minimalist box design and that carries through to the instructions as well.

We actually use the included instructions and keep them afterwards, but the fact that there’s a well-designed app that goes alongside the range is really cool; not only does it talk you through each experiment but it’s also needed in order to access the extra, complementary experiments that come with each box. It’s worth noting that there’s also some cool VR stuff that you can do with it, extra activities and learning, and also there’s a way to chat to the box creators about the experiments if you wish. It’s really thorough.

A Day Out at Lightopia London 2021

It is one of our yearly traditions to attend Lightopia! Previously, we have waited until January to go, but this year we figured we should grab tickets while we can, in case the event wasn’t on for as long as previous years. Lightopia, if you do not know, is an event ran by the same people who ran Dino Kingdom! They put on a huge showcase of light sculptures and music, that you can walk around, at various locations in the United Kingdom. We went along to Lightopia London, at Crystal Palace Park this year, as a double date with Claire and her partner.

Tokyo Treat Crate – Fun box of Japanese Snacks!

[Ad- gifted product] We are a huge fan of snacks in our household and really do love trying new things to eat and enjoy. That’s why, these sort of snack subscription boxes, are really a good fit for us! As a family of 5, it is so much fun to snack on new flavors and foods, together, and explore what they may taste like. Tokyo Treat Crate is a monthly subscription box that has a different theme every month. These various boxes contain 16 different treats for you to test out and enjoy, all from Japan!

We ended up getting the Fruity Fall crate, which had lots of fall-inspired treats for us to sink our teeth into. The box, actually, was super loaded with treats. It took us quite some time of snacking to actually get through it, which feels like really good value for money. Even with the children wanting to try bits of everything and with packed lunches having some of the treats as their treats, it did take us a while before we snacked the box down.
